If I could leave zero stars I would. This Petco is run by some of the most incompetent staff I have ever dealt with. Their staff know almost nothing about the products and live pets they sell. Their aquatic department is an absolute joke. Their tanks are constantly filled with algae, dead fish and their "aquatic specialists" are braindead. They cannot answer simple questions about the fish they are selling. They are unfriendly and treat you like you are inconveniencing them by asking them for fish. Since Petco is one of the only options for fish in this area they can treat you anyway they want.

Glad they still have some natural healthy food for cats, although they got rid of Solid Gold. Many items were not stocked and the big carts blocking the shelves with no one there emptying them was frustrating. Staff kept saying that things were coming but they didn't have the space for them yet? Why not get rid of the supermarket junk foods and open up the space? They also didn't have cases open so individual cans were not accessible, that was a pain also! Needs better management and to get the carts emptied and out of the way ASAP!

Save your receipt because you can expect the majority of fish will be dead within a week. This has been very consistent for years. Every time I go in there they have dead fish in a handful of tanks. Now I know I'll get some corporate response apologizing and saying they will look into it but they won't and they never do and they will keep having dead pets at their store and they will keep selling sick and poorly kept pets that will die soon after you bring them home. Rule of thumb is buy 3 fish for every 1 you actually want. If you want 3 fish you should buy 9.

The store has very nice and helpful employees the grooming department is horrible I brought my small dog to groom and they called me to take him back because they couldn't cut his hair they said it was too difficult and gave him back to me half shaved. Will never bring any dogs to them ever again. After years of grooming my beloved doggie has passed. They could have more success if they didn't have a grooming department.

DO NOT BUY FISH FROM HERE! My entire 30 gal tank is infected because of one stupid fish I bought here. I should have known better, but warning others as well.

I’ve been taking my dog to get his nails clipped here at this location for a long time now. I believe about 2 years. We bring him in AFTER making an appt so they knew who was coming. As soon as we get there, this very unprofessional girl named Gabby (the one with purple hair) says that my dog has attempted to supposedly bite someone in the past. This was NEVER relayed to us when this happened (if it did). Then said that there was a note about it and that we can’t ever take him to any petco again. Mind you, beforehand when we get there, she’s sticking her fingers near and around my dog’s mouth and OF COURSE attempted to bite her. I said, “I mean, you’re sticking your fingers near his mouth.” She replies, “well we have to check his teeth.” If any stranger put their finger near ANY dog’s mouth, they would bite them. Last time I checked, teeth has nothing to do with cutting nails.Unbelievable. I am writing this review because I want to say how UNPROFESSIONAL this girl was. She even said, “he’s never welcomed back here.” Honestly, this girl should NOT be working here with any pets EVER. If your dog or pet has any type of anxiety issue, I recommend you take them somewhere else or at least make an appt when this particular girl isn’t there. They will make up and say anything to NOT deal with harder dogs. I WILL be calling corporate.

I received great customer service from a lovely employee that was very welcoming, knowledgable and helpful. I don’t know her name, though will describe as a small frame young white lady with dark hair, exquisite false eyelashes, beautifully done mascara and a tastefully done nose ring.
She is a great asset to Petco!

I normally don't do reviews but AVOID THIS PETCO AT ALL COSTS. This is the 3rd time I've been ripped off. 1st was I bought little gold feeder fish and literally the next day they were all dead and my turtle got very sick. 2nd I went to buy minows and I didn't even make it home (20min) and they all died in the bag. This last one is truly a rip off package said 12 live worms there was 3 and 2 skins(and yes i sifted throughthe whole thing by hand)!!! Highly recommend that everyone steer clear of this store!

The reason I have a 10 star review is the location is very nice, all the staff are very professional and friendly they are also very knowledgeable about many animals. Ever since I had my Bearded Dragon that I bought at the Petco in Avon most staff already know my usual order of crickets I get every week. Especially with the Vital Care Membership I have here I always get accessories and items for my bearded dragon.
