Hunter,Tai,Brandon and the rest of the staff that helped me test drive and buy my car are great people! They treated my friend and I like we were old friends or family. I love my car and when it comes time to buy another I will definitely head back to see them at Gengras Subaru!!!

I went to the dealership appt for a car and salesperson Molly was very helpful..She guided me thru the buying process and even when I was discouraged led me to snacks and a thumbs up...She was quite knowledgeable and gave me some affordable options.I am happy with my choice .I will definitely send my friends here for a great Subaru..Thanks Molly..

We love our Forester!!
Molly got us exactly what we wanted and when we walked in we had no idea which model we were going to go for. She talked to us about our lifestyle and then chose some options that we could look through and we fell in love with the Forester!
We liked our experience so much that we drove 2 hours to pick up our car (we live in NY) but the customer service is out of this world!
Only thing (which probably won’t be a problem for you) is that they weren’t well acquainted with NY tax and it added an additional cost at the end that we had assumed was already rolled into the price.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Gengras Subaru!
First, I had an oil change done a few weeks ago. Service was great. Unfortunately (turned fortunate keep reading) there was a chip in my paint from their complimentary car wash. I called them as soon as I found it and the service department was closed. Bright and early the following Monday morning Jeff, service manager, called me to let me know to bring it in and they would take care of it and give me a loaner. They apologized, but I was thankful for their customer service and the ease of resolving the problem, which matters way more then the accident that happened.
Well.... they let me pick the loaner and it was a 2024 Forester. I loved it so much that a few days later we stopped there after work to look at a 2025 Forester. They were able to work with us to get me into a lease payment that I was comfortable with. They even kept the dealer open a whole hour later just for us.
I worked with Molly in sales, who is personable, funny and great at what she does. We also worked with Tai who was great in helping us get the right payment and deal. Gabriel was thorough and knowledgeable of the vehicle and all of its features. He was able to tell me the exact differences between my legacy and the new Forester. Brandon was also awesome through all of the paperwork and details.
I kept the loaner until I came to pick up the new car and my old car was waiting there for me to take my belongings out of it.
They are honest and friendly. We will be back for service and future purchases on vehicles when our lease is up!

Molly had been recommended to us and she did not disappoint! She is knowledgeable, patient, answered all our questions, and we drove out of Gengras having had a wonderful experience! Gengras Subaru Torrington: Where Dreams Come True.
Let me start off by saying that Gengras Subaru is not the closest Subaru dealership to me. I live nearby Colonial Subaru in Danbury and while proximity to them is closer, I would happily drive up to Torrington to get the best service and customer experience Subaru has to offer. I don’t state that lightly either; I have been to multiple Subaru dealerships in Florida and Connecticut and Gengras is by far the best. The attention to detail, care put into their customers’ experience, both from a sales and service standpoint, is surpassed by none.
Yesterday I picked up my new lease vehicle. 3 years ago, when I financed my first new car, also a Subaru, I would have never considered leasing. However, the trust I have in the sales department, both the managers and sales consultants, has grown over time since I have been servicing my previous vehicle with Gengras for the past year. I valued their insight and knowledge of both leasing terms and vehicle contracts to the extent that at no point did I feel anxious or like I was being taking advantage of. I felt like I was family and I was treated as such by each staff member I interacted with. Shout out to my sales person Melanie Robinson for her continued patience and perseverance as I explored my options over the past few weeks; to Tai Maher, whose knowledge of Subaru and the industry guided me to make the decision to lease my new 2024 World Rally Blue WRX; to Brandon Brown whose steadfast demeanor and vast knowledge of financial terms and warranties helped me feel confident in my choice to lease; to Andy Maiolo whose continued support and encouragement helped me grow as both a person and customer of the brand; and to Gabe Fragale whose commitment to the customer experience ensured that if I have any questions on my vehicle, he will be my first point of contact. I would also like to thank Cory Smyth for answering vehicle specific questions related to the newer VB WRX model and Ed Brown for his continued advice given my financial situation and concerns regarding the warranties I had for my vehicle expiring.
It’s been a few hours since I took delivery of my new WRX in the true blue color I wanted three years ago but was unavailable to order at the time due to new models being rolled out and I love this car. It is safer and more precisely tuned to support a street driving enthusiast than my previous 2021 WRX (also a fantastic car) and I couldn’t be happier. I waffled on whether or not I should write about my most recent service experience here. I came to the conclusion that I should tell my story so that others won’t have to endure the same frustrations.
TLDR; This service center gave me a nonsense story so that they could attempt to avoid doing warranty work and would not yield on their “findings” until I had a man call.
I purchased a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Sport in late June of 2023. The process of purchasing the vehicle was a pleasure, and the car itself is a joy to own. The service experience I’m referring to took place from 8/29-8/31/2024, about a year after purchasing the vehicle.
I noticed that my tires had worn unevenly and on the very inner edge of each tire I could see the cords and belt. It was not noticeable until, by chance, I parked with my tires turned out.
The dealership contacted me, we exchanged info about the issue and I waited for further correspondence. The next bit of info that I received came in the form of a service inspection video and featured my car on a lift and Jeff going over everything he’s seeing as far as potential issues. He notes that there is “nothing loose, leaking, broken, or bent” several times throughout the video and assures me that this is “um, caused by um, lack of tire rotations?” I later came to find out that Jeff is the service manager. I called Liza, she confirmed that it is a direct result of not having the tires rotated enough.
Spoiler alert: it’s not from missing tire rotations. It was a toe in alignment issue. If I had missed rotations, the front tires would certainly wear differently than the rear tires, but the tire itself would wear evenly.
As soon as I was off the phone with Liza I called my father, sent him photos, relayed their diagnosis and asked him to give them a call. To be honest, at that point I was partly livid and partly feeling defeated and I wanted them to have to explain that nonsense story to a union guy with automotive knowledge. While my dad corresponded with the dealership, I reached out to Subaru of America to let them know what was happening. I wanted a record of this service visit in case there were similar issues in the future. I expressed my concerns and asked every question I could think of.
Throughout the day, my dad had at least 3 calls with Jeff and at least 1 with Liza. My dad relayed updates via text. After speaking with my dad, Jeff admitted it was an alignment issue, confirmed with Subaru that the tires and labor would be covered, offered a courtesy vehicle, and a free oil change. I didn’t get any info from the dealership directly. Once everything was settled and agreed upon my dad said I should confirm with them on whether or not I wanted the 15k mile service. I replied “Ok, I will if they ever contact me, they may just continue to contact you.” Just for context: I’m 36, my dad is not tied to the car in any way financially and I would be able to pay for just about any service they offer without help from my dad or anyone else. My spouse and I co-own the car.
My next interaction was in-person when I arrived to pick up the courtesy vehicle. I didn’t say much, mostly thanked the associate for their help in getting me set up with the loaner. Liza did pop over for a moment to let me know that she’s still not certain the tires will be covered.
I confirmed with my dad that Jeff had already gotten coverage from Subaru. Interesting that once they were dealing with me and not dad, they weren't certain tires were covered. I called Subaru of America again to ask what to do if the dealership backpedaled completely and wouldn’t cover the tires. They let me know that I already had a claim in and that the following day, I would be able to appeal that decision with SOA directly. I felt better after that, I had already decided that on principle, I wasn’t paying for anything. So ends Monday. Tuesday comes and Liza confirms that the tire

We were shopping around for a car and had been to a few places before we found Gengras Subaru in Torrington. Hunter Kennerson made our shopping experience a pleasant one. We were not rushed and felt comfortable dealing with this very important decision we had to make for our next vehicle. I went to Gengras back in May/April ‘24 ! Had an amazing sales experience w. Sal Bernachiddi I think I butchered his last name! I took my time buying a car, 1-I didn’t want just anything 2-it was a Huge financial purchase for me 3-I definitely didn’t want a car that started w. “Mechanical problems”!! Sal knew this & wasn’t the least bit annoyed w. Me! He was 100% patient, attentive, & empathetic!! I was surprised to get such a person at a dealership! I cannot count the number of cars he brought to my feet, at the front door, while I sat!!!
Just so I can look to see, if, we were going for a test drive! He knew what my needs were, but I also had a whole 2 page checklist, I myself needed to go over!
Another thing about Gengras, they have other Gengras dealerships in CT they can “pull” cars from, if u find it on their website!!! Who knew?
Sal found the Acura i finally purchased! It was in North Haven Gengras Volvo !! Small situation, I work a straight 7days (live-in) so when the car was brought over to Torrington, I assume the paperwork wasn’t, by the time I came back(8days) the car was sent back to North Haven! So I didn’t get to “buy” the car from Sal at Torrington Gengras Subaru. We went to North Haven Gengras to “finish the sale”, w. Another good sales rep. Still BIG Kudos to an amazing sales rep Sal & his team!! if u didn’t make an appt, walk-in & ask for Sal, I still smile at the dedication he put in, finding me, my Acura RDX!!
I do need to add his team worked really hard as well!They were fast, anytime he needed to get me the price of the cars with a discount ( LOL )they worked their magic!! I don’t remember everyone’s name, but I can say this was The best dealership I went to!!

Buying my new Crosstrek at Gengras Subaru was an easy, pleasant, and no-pressure experience. Hunter (Hawk) made sure everything went smoothly and Ed worked his magic to keep the monthly payment within my predetermined budget. Subarus are a great car and Gengras Subaru is a great dealership. Very disappointed in this dealership, bought the car and wasn’t told it was parked for a while, took it home to change out wheels and studs just shattered to pieces, mind you this was not even within a week of purchase, called the guy to see if as a courtesy they would fix the problem and they want to charge me for the repairs, I understand is as is but that’s not the point it wasn’t even a week to my purchase and my car is over 20k so I just bought a car from u and not even in a week of purchase I call to have the issue resolved to get an smart remark and attitude from sales clerk, Ethan to be exact,
