I've been going to this salon for just about a year - Traci does a truly excellent job, however, from my last appointment at the end of March to my appointment today, the cost of my haircut increased by $16, which I found out only when I went to pay. I was pretty blindsided - that's a significant increase that I wasn't prepared for, and had I known, I wouldn't have kept the appointment, it's simply not in my price range. The price I had been paying prior to today was already at the top of my budget. If you can afford their prices, and have wiggle room for surprise price increases, it's a great salon. I can't disparage the service I've received, I've been very happy with my hair, so they may well be worth the new, heftier price tag, but I've been to several other salons over the years that have made customers aware of price increases with considerable notice in advance before the change takes effect so no one is caught off guard - perhaps that's something this salon could consider in the future when raising prices, ESPECIALLY when it's a sizable jump, as this was. An increase can't always be absorbed by your customers - give people an opportunity to go elsewhere if they can't afford the new pricing rather than putting them in an uncomfortable position as I was.

Megan is amazing! Her waxing techniques makes it painless and quick, she uses hard wax which is different from the traditional waxing methods. Highly recommend her.

Maddie is the best! The energy there is great. Maddie made me feel back to my old self. Attention to detail and know what they are doing. Love the entire experience.

June 2024 was my 1st visit at this salon after doing a random Google search. Upon walking in, I immediately noticed how clean, comfy, and organized everything was. I was greeted by several smiling faces, and within minutes, Alexa was working on my hair. She explained everything she was going to do, and I was extremely satisfied with my color and highlights. I also had my eyebrows waxed, and that also went smoothly. Please note. You can pay for your services by card, but tips are cash only (so plan accordingly). There's ample parking and salon is very easy to find. I'm very happy with my experience.
Stylist: Alexa is a young stylist who is not only great at what she does, she genuinely loves her job, explains the process, reads her customers well, isn't a talker, unless you want her to be. She's fantastic!

I’m not one to write reviews but I don’t know how else so tell Josephine how much I LOVE my haircut!!! She listened to all my crazy antics and after not trusting a salon for years I feel so heard. Thank you thank you for making every day start out feeling faaab-u-lous. Happy to finally say a have a hairdresser and salon I go to on the “reg”

The staff of the business were very friendly and personable and the atmosphere was quite delightful. However, the hair stylist herself who did my hair was extremely distracted between multiple appointments, she cut my hair several inches shorter than what I had described I wanted. I asked for shoulder length and my hair is at my ears! The coloring she also used to do the highlights was extremely off putting and not a good color or matching any of the colors within my hair already. The application on the highlights was also significantly awful and inches away from my roots and extremely choppy and not professional looking at all. I would not recommend, especially if you have curly hair.Services: Curly hair

Modern Design Salon worked quickly and efficiently on our wedding morning! They came to our house which made my morning that much easier! We finished well before the time we needed to leave for the venue and they stayed to touch up everyones hair and wish us well on our day. Each bridesmaid and mother left with exactly what they wanted. I can't thank them enough for their work with our wedding party and our day wouldn't have been the same without them.

I love this place! Super nice, attentive and not pretentious. Usually when I get my hair colored my scalp burns and it's terribly uncomfortable, not here! They use organic color products that cover my tenacious grays and lasts as ling as the nasty chemical colorants do. I also have long, thick, curly hair which can take a while to blow straight, Josephine has me done in under an hour ( miracle speed!). Lotsa love for the stylists at Modern Design!!
