Very nicely appointed and comfortable room. understated but in keeping with the "beach location vibe." Great to stroll over the the Little pub which has great reasonable food and cocktails. Would not hesitate to stay again. Shoutout to Jillian (manager) who was very accommodating with a room change request.

This is the second year in a row we have stayed at the Surfside for Thanksgiving weekend. It really is a gem of hotel. The beds are the most comfortable I have ever experienced in a hotel and everything in the rooms is designed with ease of use in mind from bedside lamps, plugs for electronics and more. If you can get an oceanside room, it is well worth it. The balconies and views are spectacular. Thank you to the staff who made us feel so welcome.

The hotel is wonderful. Great location and feels like you're on an island somewhere. My only issue is with Hotel / Restaurant Management. Over the summer, my wife and I received a parking ticket outside of the property. As Town of Stratford parking regulation signs were not well marked, my wife contacted the property manager suggesting the Hotel / Restaurant notify customers of the street parking regulations since their parking lot can't accommodate everyone on busy summer nights (it feels kind of crappy to receive a parking ticket right outside the establishment without any heads-up from the property about parking regulations). The property manager told my wife to let her know when we'd be returning and she'd take care of us. A week before our planned night at the hotel in November, my wife directly emailed the manager letting her know the night of our stay. Disappointingly, the manager never responded, meaning it was an empty promise without the intent of being fulfilled. It's unfortunate we won't be returning, as we enjoyed the hotel.

Super cute and retro hotel. Very clean and super comfortable bed plus lots of little extras in room to make you smile. Restaurant on site is great and offers some gluten free options. Sea wall plus another good restaurant are a close walk. Sunset at sea wall is awesome.

Enjoyed a quiet and relaxing stay in room 19. Beautiful views from our room's balcony. The room and hotel were clean and the overall style is rustic, retro, and eclectic. The outside of the building reminds you it's an older hotel but I personally loved the retro feel. They also had bikes to borrow, electric car charging, and free parking.The hotel is located near a residential neighborhood and on the beach. We really enjoyed waking along the water for a bit looking at what washed along the shore like crabs, rocks, seashells, etc. There's a restaurant on site but we didn't try it. We really appreciated the coffee room equipped with muffins, snack bars, apples, tea, coffee, ice, and a water bottle filling station! Both people we interacted with at the front desk were friendly. We would love to stay here again.

From Rm 14 you do not have control of the thermostat. It's either in heat or cool and cannot be changed from the room thermostatIt worked out OK

As usual my stay at the Surfside was nothing short of perfect. The service and hospitality this little gem offers is priceless. I always look forward to my stay and love catching up with the staff. This place is so fun! The rooms are well-decorated, modern, and comfortable. We have 3 kids so it can be a challenge having enough beds for everyone - but these rooms actually include a comfortable full-sized daybed that really increases your options. I definitely recommend a room with a balcony, if you can. There’s great beach access no matter what room you choose, but you just can’t beat the luxury of stepping right out onto a patio overlooking the ocean any time you feel like it. The little beach is sandy and relatively sheltered with rocky seawalls to climb on and plenty of seating options. The restaurant & bar are also awesome - rather than dine-in, we had drinks at the outdoor bar and ordered take-out to have in our rooms. It was the perfect low-key option for the day we’d had, and it’s so great to have all the choices right there on site. We could have packed our meal out onto beach loungers, or gathered at an indoor table overlooking the water. In the morning, the coffee lounge with fruit and pastries was a quick and convenient way for us to get back on the road.

Great location and lovely views! The rooms are new and nicely decorated but construction quality not so great. Sloppy painting in the room especially around the trim and sloppy grouting in bathroom floor. The shower door leaked in the small one person bathroom and the electrical outlets don’t work throughout the room. We killed several bugs that were flying around our room as well. The folks at the front desk were not friendly but the food at the Little Pub was good!

Very nice location. Room 22 was very nice, the beds are very comfortable. The balcony has a nice view, but no privacy. The TV was difficult to use, there was a direct TV remote but we couldn’t figure out how to use it, we did find a button that worked to get a few shows, so we didn’t bother asking the front desk how to make it work. The hotel has a little gym with 2 bikes, free weights and some yoga equipment. There are water dispensers in a few different locations throughout the hotel to fill water bottles. The coffee room had apples and granola bars. There was also a small freezer with bags of ice. The beach was nice, the hotel offered 6 beach lounge chairs and some other beach chairs, as well as, a few paddle boards and a kayak. The rates are a little pricey.There is a nice little restaurant attached to the hotel and another about a 2 minute walk away. There’s also a corner store and pizza shop about a 4 minute Drive away. There’s an adorable gift shop, Mellow Monkey, about 10 minutes away, save time to check it out, it’s a really cool store.

First time going here. Found the place online and didn't know what to expect. But when I arrived I was very pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff, clean place, with a gym, coffee room and a very cool beechy décor. The rooms were huge and clean, mine had an ocean view like many. Cool little outdoor bar and a full restaurant right on the premises. Great water views and a small private beach. Would go back again.

The rooms and hall smelled musty and the walls must be super thin because it was sooo loud at night in the morning. Coffee room was cute. It was right in the beach and the on-site restaurant was great. I think the room was a bit overpriced. Furnishings were nice but bathroom was subpar. Mattress was very comfortable. Front desk staff was friendly.

This motel has mold in most rooms and rust around shower drainage. Please, be aware if you are staying on the first floor that you will hear every move from upstairs.
