Terrible customer service. Employee's actively avoid helping customers. Products frequently ring up at a higher price than advertised and the manager on staff refused to match the price posted on the shelf. Save yourself the headache and go to the Walmart next door.

It's small, and not very organized. Everything is just crammed in. Shelton and Milford are my go-to You walk into these two stores and go "Wow.

Being charged bottle deposit on orange juice and half gallon bottles of juice.looking at my receipt when i got home and noticed 4 bottle deposits 2 on Tropicana orange juice and the other on ocean spray cranberry juice and Mott's apple juice. Since when is there a bottle deposit in ct.? on 2 litter juice bottles?looked at the bottle ..nope dose not say 5 cents Connecticut deposit !!sad enough with the prices that seem higher the 1rst of the month when seniors get s.s and e.b.t uses get food stamps. for 3 weeks price signs have been wrong on many idem's in the back of the store.( ex) hostess donuts 2 for 5..nope regular price at cash out.8 employees standing in front of the store and 2 registers open.Reported a food spill in aisle and was snapped at..I know. Your welcome!! going to Shelton for now on. Thank you for being a great service to your stratford residents.

The biggest issue I have with this ShopRite is the location. Stuck between Home Depot and Walmart. Parking is difficult and even the shop from home spots are always full.Walk in and the smell hits you. It looks dirty and smells awful. There is never anyone to help you if you need it. I much prefer the ShopRite in Shelton or Milford.

Worst grocery shopping experience in my life! I moved from Wilton to Stratford in the spring. Bought a house on the North end of Stratford (sticking with ShopRite in Shelton for good now) and shopped at ShopRite Stratford only twice before. Checkouts always crowded and didn't want to wait this time. So thought I'd try the self-checkout, and I am no pro admittedly. I purchased two rotisserie chickens, two large boxes of crackers and tried scanning a large in store soup. I kept swiping the bottom at least 5 or 6 times heard nothing - the guard, I mean employee there stood two feet from me. Each time I looked in her eyes like 'What is the deal here?' She looked away each time. I decided to leave the soup; finished and paid for my items.I picked up the soup as I was going to leave it with her, and she FINALLY COMES OVER TO ME after pressing a button a light indicating the terminal I used. She said, "You didn't scan the soup. Scan it NOW.". I said I tried. "Noo you didn't.". I said I did. "No you didn't" 6 times she responded rudely "No you didn't". "Scan it now!!" I said you try. "NO". I tried four more times nothing, she finally scanned it for me, the UPC in an odd spot on bottom/corner. I paid and left. I get that this is a low-end store. I mean obviously they are used to crime there, but not everyone is there to steal. Some of us need customer service help. I felt set up, like she needed to hook on someone that morning for brownie points with the manager. I looked at her 5 or 6 times for help right in her EYES, she looked away knowing I was having trouble and she just wanted to pin something on me or anyone. After seeing her press the button on her terminal (to mark my terminal) THEN coming over to (laughing) HELP me. I felt violated. I am sure there have been others that encountered the same thing there. Shelton store, Norwalk stores are run by the Cingari family whom my own parents knew for years. Never have I been treated so wrongly and roughly by a checkout girl. That is what she is and that is what she will stay. Well maybe the prisons need some new help. Anyway, stay far away from this classless establishment. They treat customers like they are parolees to be watched. An embarrassment to Stratford I am sure. They need to be taught to show each and every customer respect or they will have none left. GOODBYE!

My husband pulled this out of his mouth. It came from a Bowl and Basket package of Spring Mix. It's about a 3 inch long, sharp, jagged, dirty, piece of wood. I've reached out to shoprite three times now. They keep asking to collect information; receipts, my customer account info, info on the spring mix etc., but they don't seem interested in remedying the situation. My husband could have choked and as a customer I feel as though no one from Shop Rite is taking me seriously. This is alarming and down right nasty.

I'm in pain a lot of the time with a few ruptured discs plus sciatica so I try not to walk far. The electric carts are wonderful but I can't find one at Stratford's store without hiking to the closed entrance I'm told. Why would they be on the opposite end of the only open entrance? For that matter, when I self check out I'm at an exit but it's closed so I'm forced to hike again. Is it so difficult to keep both exits available to those of us having to be parked near it or those who have difficulty walking distances? Sure easy for you to monitor masks at one door rather than let us run freely in and out at two points. Madness! LOL About the same in Milford but their electric carts are many and easily accessed. Bravo to the friendly Deli keeping Chopped Chicken Liver in stock!

Purchased 3 packages of Shoprite brand cheese that had expiration dates in June. I opened one- moldy. The other unopened ones were solidly moldy and green. When I went to exchange them, (04/18/3021 at 2:30), the woman at the customer service desk stated@ there is a 7 day policy on perishables." So, how does an opened, refrigerated cheese go completely green before the expiration date? Avoid their cheese brands and their perishables, because they clearly take your money and sell garbage to their customer.
