Barnum animal hospital in Stratford Connecticut was professional. I walked in with a new born baby bird and they helped rite away they went above and beyond to get this tiny bird to an incubator. Bri and Leann never brushed me away and they never said we couldn’t call to get updated on the tiny bird . Thank you ladies for your wonderful service and I will be sending people out to you
They were also so happy with the donation??

My Cat Shadow died this morning. I originally was bringing him in to get the shot. But Dr. Wong took one look at him and said that he was going on his own. Dr. Wong brought in the bottle but just stood there and talked with us in full explanation about what was happening and was very compassionate. Before Long Shadow went peacefully. I'm am not the biggest fan of Doctors anymore because they try to get every last dime from people but not Barnum Animal! They could have hurried up and gave him the shot but Dr. Wong...All I can say is thank you for being a REAL Dr.! You are Dr. Pieper are the best!

NEGLIGENCE! HORRENDOUS experience!! Our rabbit was spayed here and dead within 48 hours. We took our rabbit in on a Friday to be spayed when we went to pick her up late Saturday staff said "she hasn't eaten overnight" and anyone with rabbits knows this is a cause for concern. Despite our concern they told us to take her home, "rabbits can be sensitive to anesthesia" feed her critical care and the appetite restore (which we did nonstop with no improvement) and they told us "to call back on Sunday morning if she hadn't improved." She died in my arms on the way to (a different) Emergency Vet on Sunday morning because she wasn't OK and our concerns were valid. At my consult prior to surgery, I was told they were "on the lookout for GI stasis after surgery and would not fail to treat it if it was a concern." But apparently not because they did nothing for out rabbit besides tell us to take her home. I called first thing the next business day and asked to speak to the veterinarian who performed the surgery, the staff reassured me they would make it right and I would received a phone call back that day. HEARD NOTHING until I called the answering service again and then finally a phone call with the most lack-luster apology I have ever received in my life. Little to no remorse and I am in the medical field... So almost $600 spent in clinic costs, a dead rabbit ...and not even the courtesy of a timely returned phone call, a heartfelt apology or staff owning up to utter grotesque negligence.
There is absolutely nothing to recommend.

I've been using Barnum animal hospital for over 20 years and cannot say enough positive things about the doctors there. I have parrots and if you need someone to take care of your bird there is no better option!

Dr. Pieper is a child predator. Don’t believe me? Look it up.
Keep your kids away from this place.

So thankful for the help of the Barnum Animal Hospital! I found an injured pigeon in the road, and they were the only ones willing to help and take the bird in! Thank you!

Doctors Pieper and Wong are worth travelling 3 hours each way from New Hampshire for a visit. I lived in stratford all my life and since leaving there have not found a vet that comes close to their expertise and compassion. Their staff is caring and efficient, also. As long as I have pets I will continue to make the trip when needed. Thank you so much Barnum Animal Hospital.

Dr. Pieper is hands down, the absolute best veterinarian you could ever have see and care for your pet. He is truly gifted and genuinely loves animals. Whenever I leave messages with questions, he always gives me a call back the same day and has always provided well informed responses that make me feel at ease. He can be brutally honest, he’s got spunk and a fun sense of humor and I personally enjoy that very much about him. He does not take advantage financially and his prices have always been lower than anywhere else for the same treatment. He is the gem and I am so grateful that I found him 15+ years ago to care for my pets. When he retires, I genuinely don’t know what I’m going to do. There is no one else out there like him who checks off all the boxes - rare talent, extreme knowledge, genuine and visible love of animals and fair/low prices. Thank you Dr. Pieper for all the love and care you have provided to us and so many families!

Refused to see my pet , said they weren't taking new clients. What kind of hospital refuses patients?

Couldn’t say more positive things about the Drs and their staff. They are kind and compassionate, knowledgeable, and informative. Their fees are reasonable and their scheduling is prompt. So happy to have my pet care with this office.
