We wandered in on our trip to the Shoppes of Old Mystic and LOVE this place. They had the coolest, most unique items for dog and cat lovers and even for my little whale loving nephew, there was a SUPER COOL book. I highly recommend this store if you have little ones to keep entertained while on vacation. For babies and toddlers, there are adorable finger puppet card board books in the back, little ones from the ages of 3-10 would like all of the plastic toy animals, and the plush stuffed animals of EVERY kind. I highly recommend this and several other shoppes in Old Mystic.

DO NOT GO HERE. Racist vibes!!!! My boyfriend and I entered the store and was not greeted at all. There was a woman in an orange puffer vest who was originally behind the register then proceeded to follow us around the store which made us feel extremely uncomfortable. She greeted everyone else and said goodbye besides us. I was going to purchase two things but after that interaction we will never be going back. Someone wrote a review 8 YEARS AGO stating the same thing. The workers/owner never changed.

Raining Cats & Dogs is a fun store for anyone who is a lover of furry friends, or you may find a special treat to get for one here. There is everything here, and for every breed. You'll find stickers, keychains, towels, hats and socks, all of it for dog owners, by breed. They have leashes, collars, toys, snacks, special birthday treats and hats.The dog section is much larger then the cat section. There just might be more dog owners in the world. There's even a gift section dedicated to dogs that are no longer with us.Everything is in this store, many things I never knew existed. Any dog (or cat) lover would be thrilled to receive something from this small business.

This store is FULL of amazing items and cute gifts. But most importantly, the staff is knowledgable and very helpful. I recently visited on 5/29/2022 at 11:33am to look into cbd oil for my 16 yr old Mini Pinscher. The staff member working the counter I walked up to was knowledgable about the cbd products they offered, how helpful it was for her dog and helped me decide on a product to try. Also - IMMEDIATELY after his first dose, my dog is now more mobile, and visibly in less pain. Thank you so very much for helping me find a product that will help improve the quality of my elderly dogs' life. I appreciate you. <3

Opened the door to Raining Cats and Dogs at exactly 5:49pm with 4 other humans and 1 dog already in the store, and had the cashier call over to me at the door and tell me she was closing. It literally takes me 2 minutes to buy a dog collar. Perhaps they should change their closing time to 5:50pm instead of 6pm to avoid further confusion.

If you own a dog then this store is definitely for you. They have anything you could need, and a lot of things you might want for your four legged friend. If you're a cat owner then go right when you enter the store. The cat section isn't small, but if you go left and wander through endless dog items before you get to their cat section the you are likely to be far less impressed. That being said they did have a lot of Kong toys and they had some nice designer collar and leashes that I thought were really cool. Definitely worth a stop in.
