Nice shop with great products but so overpriced is putting it mildly. Food is the sameway…ridiculously high prices. You would think they would catch on and lower the pricesand sell more souvenirs.

When I visited on 11/5/2023 The Mystic Seaport Bookstore had been reduced to a few dozen books.

Second-floor book collection used to be one of the best available anywhere for maritime enthusiasts. That portion of the gift shop is no more however. Deeply disappointing.

Gift shop is like all others - mostly junk. I guess the two stars are because I actually had expectations…

Loved it.... With all ancient collection dwelling some modern and middle aged creation too. I loved the book named Sailors Day.

Not many good books, plus nothing to really do around it unless you either have a bike/scooter or have loads of money to spend on the entrance fees for the seaport

This is my husband's and son's favorite bookstore. When we visit Mystic they actually go every day! They have all kinds of good reads for every interest. Recently, it was expanded to include two large rooms. The front room features new releases and popular, classic novels among others. The room proceeding it features academic subjects such as politics, history, economics, etc. The atmosphere provides a sense of calm, which coincides nicely with the already relaxed atmosphere of Mystic. Before the store itself is a statue of a whale, a hallmark that can be found throughout Connecticut, just as shell statues can be found throughout New Jersey. With beautiful editions of books of every variety, you will not be disappointed!

The Mystic Seaport Museum Store has an impressive range of books including cookbooks, history, navigation, and children's books. There is a selection right when you walk in to the store and a larger selection upstairs. They also sell souveniers, clothing, home decorations, toys, and food. You do not have to purchase a ticket to get into Mystic Seaport to be able to browse the museum store.

The ONLY place to purchase Sea Shanties of the UPMOST quality. I’ve traveled the world over and there is NO comparison. But then again I’m probably 1/10 humans worldwide that hunts down Sea Shanties.

The Bookstore I would have given 5 Stars, when it sold books on the second floor that were on sailing related topics of scholarly value. Most of those have been done away with unfortunately in favor of cellphones or IPads!
