Joe Zemo is a "different" kind of guy. He is not your expected pleasant mildly obsequious tailor. If anything he's a bit of the opposite. He is opinionated and often loud and even may appear to some to be arrogant. He really isn't, he cares about his clients and their appearance. He has definite opinions but he is very often right, and he will do right by you. His main business is formal wear rentals but he has a made to measure service which is very good. And he utilizes very good companies to produce his piece goods. I have never done a suit with him but I would imagine it would be a successful project. I am overall pleased with my experience with shirts and trousers. Don't let the mid-60s (mid-50s?) look of the shop or Joe's demeanor stop you. If you are pleasant to him he will be to you, even if at times he remind you of a football or basketball coach. He maybe the only old-style men's clothing store left in Stamford, and he is with a visit.

Joe came in the clutch for a wedding I had to attend that was a black tie affair. I called up Zemos on a Monday and picked up the tux on Friday, ready for the wedding on Saturday. The whole experience was great. Joes got character and makes the whole experience quick. Because of the compliments I received on the tux, Joes personality, timing and professionalism, I recommend this place to anyone that needs a tux rental.

The owner boarders on the edge of insanity. I have never experienced someone that rude with that much distain for his customers. The whole experienced was rushed with no one else in the store. I had an electric scooter with me which I use to get to and from work, and he told me to “leave that Chinese bomb up stairs” before taking me down to where the ties were. I’d rather spend twice as much at Joseph A Bank.Update: this guy says that he doesn’t sell ties, yet he has pictures of ties on his past reviews! I bought a black tie from him and trust me, he had plenty. I wonder what else he lies about?

In a time when business relationships have boiled down to id numbers and screen names and customer service has dwindled to automated messages, businesses and business owners consider building relationships with customers a remnant of the past. Joe Zemo (owner of Zemo Men's Store) defies the status quo. He has many years of experience within the field of men's fashion and his custom clothing along with his customer service remains unmatched. He will fit guys by measuring them properly with a tape measure, and he will explain every aspect of a suit so that his customers will: 1) gain knowledge as a result of working with him, and, 2) look and feel great in his custom clothes. Guys, if you care about the way that you present yourselves, then talk to Joe about purchasing his custom clothes. He has fair prices and will give you what you want. In addition to all of that, Joe will take the time to familiarize himself with his customers and over time (if people continue to purchase clothes from him) they will find that visits to his store will remind them of sitting at the dinner table on Sundays with good food, good drink, and good company.

Definitely nice store. Owner was very rude. I really dont care if you own the store. Dont be a butt hole. Me looking to purchase and asking from him how his services worked made him feel that I was being defensive. He immediately stated that I didn't like him or the way he runs his business. I even tried to apologizing to deescalate the issue. Told me That I could go to Mens warehouse lol. I Could of definitely saved the hour travel coming to this store. Very rude man. Peace and love.

Joe’s a good guy. He can be a little bit of a “ball buster” sometimes. But he is allowed to run his business however he wishes. Try to be a good sport about it - he’ll take good care of you.

If your looking to look good Zemos is the spot for you!! Due to COVID I had a small wedding in 2020 and a larger one in 2021. joe did an amazing job for both! He made me an awesome custom suit for 2020 with custom shirts to match that fit like a glove! For 2021 he had all the groomsmen looking top notch with beautiful new blue suits. He gives great advice and makes sure everyone suits fits perfect! I highly recommend bringing your business here!
