I had been going to The Loft Salon and Spa to get blonde highlights for about a year. I needed somewhere in the area so I didn't have to travel all the way to Manhattan. It seemed that each time I went I had to book with a new person because the previous one had left the salon (apparently the owner is not nice to the employees- at least that was what I heard from the people that worked there). The last time I went in I had a new person (of course) and she told me that my blonde hair was severely damaged from another colorist I that I had used the time before who had left. She talked me into going "a little darker" instead of the highlights in order to help my damaged hair. She said it would look like my natural light brown, dark blonde color. Long story short, I left with chestnut brown hair which I did not want and did not like AT ALL. She told me she needed to cut it so she cut about 3-4 inches off. Basically, I went in for blonde highlights and a trim before a major work event and left with a short dark brown bob. It was TERRIBLE. This place is not good and not professional. It's taken my hair a year to grow back out and recover from that. Don't do it.

I've been here 3 times for haircuts and each time had a wonderful experience. The women in the salon are friendly and talented. I've walked away with amazing cuts and great blow outs! I would highly recommend visiting as I think the hours are convenient and the prices are fair.

What a lovely event at the Loft! Women's Connection 2020 was invited to host a middle school girls night and the moms and girls had the most WONDERFUL time. We learned from the stylists, makeup artists, skin care, and amazing salon owner, Stephanie, all about hair care, braiding, blowouts, skin care, makeup, and more. Giveaways, raffles and more fun. I had my hair down and I just loved it!! What a lovely salon. The decor was fabulous.

I really hate writing negative reviews, but I feel like it's my duty after having two bad experiences here. The first balayage I got here last year was so awful that I had to go back in a week later to have the entire thing redone. Upon seeing it, they felt really bad and also threw in a haircut for free, so I forgave them and returned a second time to a different colorist. This week, the second time I went in, 1) they had raised their prices significantly, and 2) I was told by the girl on the phone that a blowout was included in my service... which, spoiler alert: it wasn't. So once I was done in the chair, since the blowdry actually WASN'T included, the colorist just dried one or two tiny strands that seemed fine and I didn't notice how awful my hair looked until I got home and dried it myself. First off, about 1/4 of my hair is literally grey with a blue/purple undertone because she completely overtoned it (and of course she didn't realize this or look at her work, because the blowdry wasn't included). She basically bleached 70% of my head while leaving my dark dirty blonde roots completely untouched, so I have a huge stripe of darkness at my roots before you see bright bleached highlights a few inches down. I also have a huge band of awkwardly blended highlights on the underside of my hair. It looks genuinely awful - worse than when I went in - and I'm praying I can fix my grey hair at home myself. Sadly I don't trust that they're going to make it right again, so I'm choosing to go to a different salon and pay even more money to have the "balayage" fixed. Due to these two experiences, I can't recommend this place. Regardless of the bad color job, not including a blowdry with a $165+ service is insane to me. I also kindly tipped her 20% because she was perfectly friendly and enjoyable to talk to, but of course I had no idea how terrible my hair looked. Customers NEED to be able to see the job done before leaving a salon to ensure that it was worth their time and money.

Just got back from a haircut at The Loft, Stephanie cut my hair. She did the most splendid job, I have never been more pleased with a haircut in my life. She was so kind when I came in, made me feel really comfortable, asked me lots of questions and gave me exactly what I wanted! I will most definitely be returning to The Loft and getting a haircut from her. The atmosphere is very nice in there and the staff is always friendly.
