Great Crew. I had a problem with my brakes and I was seen that day and had everything fixed within hours. I was given great service and everyone working was a gentleman. This will be my go to auto shop from here on out. 10/10 would recommend.

I had to read other negative reviews before posting mine. I see how strategic these guys can be with their replies so I will put it all out here and wait to see what they have to say.
First of all, this will be the first time i am writing a review like this as I see how it might help someone avoid unnecessary headaches. I brought my car to a mechanic in NY because i could hear an annoying squeaky sound whenever i went over a bump. They fixed the problem but left me another issue. My car would sway to the left or right when i fell into a pothole. I called the mechanic in NY and they told me I needed an alignment. I brought my car to Stamford Auto but the alignment did not fix the problem which was totally understandable. A couple of weeks after, I heard a griding sound at the front end when I drove. I got a bit nervous so I brought my car back to Stamford auto based on an uber driver’s recommendation. I asked for them to take a look at the issue with the car swaying as well as the grinding sound. One of the mechanics went with me for a test drive and also confirmed the issue. I left my car with them in hopes of getting these issues fixed. I received a call a couple of hours later. They pointed out to me that the tire rods would need to be replaced for a total cost of $655 plus taxes. They recommended other things being replaced but that costed over $2k but i felt it way beyond my budget. I specifically asked if replacing the tire rods would fix the issue and the told me it was a starting point. I was reluctant to have them do it but i decided to give them the benefit of the doubt based on the recommendation i received from the uber driver. They called me later that evening that it was almost done because they were in the process of doing an alignment. I felt it was late so i decided to pick it up first thing in the morning. I got there but they had taken the car for a test drive. I asked the mechanic if the problem had been resolved and he told me a little bit. He recommended that i change the wheel bearing and front struts and that would fix the grinding sound. Smh. Now it was time to pay. The $655 had turned into over $800. I asked why and they told me they had to do an alignment. So what did they mean by total cost when i spoke with them on the phone the day prior. After a back and forth with them, they decided to have me pay half of the cost of alignment. I honestly did not care about the money because i believe in principles. If they told me $655 plus taxes on the phone, then that was exactly what i had to pay. These guys were looking at me like i wasn’t speaking English. Long story short, i walked away with the same exact problem i brought in the car for. Nothing had changed at all. I had just thrown money away. I am so disappointed as they appeared to be nice from the beginning but it appeared at the end that they were more interested in money than customer satisfaction. Now let me see what reply they come back with.

Had a screw stuck in a tire that went from a slow leak to a quick leak fast. This is the first place we were able to find. They patched the flat in 15 minutes and had us on our way. Honest and a reasonable price. Would use them again if they were in my area.

HORRIBLE EXPIERENCE !!
I was lied to, gender profiled, and charged for services that I did NOT receive.
I brought my vehicle to Stamford Auto Repair for a "Tune Up" which I was told (over the phone, in person, and at the time of payment) includes the items/ services listed below
- Replacement of cabin and engine air filters
- Replacement of spark plugs
- Engine power wash
- PCV valve replacement
- Multi-point inspection
- Rotation of tires and set tire pressure
- Fill washer solvent, inspect all under-hood fluids
Upon dropping off my vehicle, I notified George (office personnel) that I had previously been made aware of a leak in my power steering line, causing the fluid to drain rapidly. I specified that I would like my power steering pump to be filled, even though my "request" was already been told to be included with the "Tune Up" service. George reiterated that my request was included in the service and reassured me that the service would be done.
Later I received a call from George asking if I would like to include a under carriage wash in my service in order to confirm that the leak was in fact, coming from my power steering pump. I confirmed that I would like to add the service.
When I arrived to pick up my vehicle, George said that everything was "all set" and "his guys completed all of the services", so I paid and waited for George to pull my car out of the garage. As George was pulling the car out HE said "wow, this is pretty bad you are going to need power steering fluid". At this point I am utterly confused as this service was supposed to be included in the "Tune Up" (and I specifically requested the service). George calls a mechanic from the back and asks him to fill the pump - which he did. The excuse I was given as to why the fluid was not filled, was "they could not find the fluid" but at this point, I am now wondering what else was not done, being that I wasn't notified at the time of payment about any services they were unable to complete, and instead was told that I was "good to go". I asked George to show me all of the old parts they "replaced" - which he did. I then asked George to walk me through each service on the invoice, it was THEN brought to my attention that multiple services listed, AND paid for, were not done. (Listed below)
- Engine power wash - CLEARLY WAS NOT DONE
- Tire Rotation and wheel alignment - WAS NOT DONE
- Fill Washer solvent - WAS NOT DONE - Due to not having the fluid on hand
- Under-hood fluids - CLEARLY WAS NOT DONE
I requested a refund of the services that were not completed and was told I would not be able to receive a refund.
At this point I felt 100% lied to, robbed & taken advantage of, being that I am a women. It wasn't until my boyfriend arrived that the issues were being addressed. Shortly after my boyfriend arrived, Will (Manager) spoke with him and addressed our concerns. At first, he seemed hesitant to taking any accountability. After he inspected my vehicle, he confirmed that the services listed above were NOT done even though it was never brought to my attention, and I was still charged for them.
We did receive a partial refund but nonetheless, I was 100% lied to, and taken advantage of. It wasn't until my boyfriend was present that I was shown some sort of respect as any paying customer is warranted to have.
Very obvious (PAID) services were blatantly ignored. Though we received a refund, this does NOT negate the fact that I was lied to and charged for services I did not receive. Needless to say, we will never go back, and my suggestion to you is that you stay far away from these lying thieves.

Cannot express how great, quick, and professional this place is compared to other mechanics in Stamford. None of the usual dread and drudgery is involved when having to take your car here whatsoever.
Starting from the front of office, George is always a wonderful help with a wealth of knowledge, and an enthusiastic and warm demeanor that feels supportive and inviting.
In the back, Willy is an extremely knowledgeable and honest mechanic with countless years of experience who will know what your car truly needs, and get the job done with his team as quickly and thoroughly as possible.
These guys have always gone above and beyond to give me fair prices, patient answers to my endless questions, and an overall honest, communicative, and efficient experience. 10/10.

My wife and I, along with in-laws, were on our way to Florida from Norwich, CT and broke down on southbound I-95. We were extremely fortunate to find Stamford Auto Repair. Silvia and the crew were able to repair our 2017 Chrysler Pacifica (spark plugs and ignition coils) in less than four hours! Silvia even recommended a terrific Mexican restaurant across the street where we had lunch during our wait. Stamford Auto Repair is an absolutely superb shop.
