“We have been beyond thrilled with Building Blocks High Ridge. We moved over to this location about 9 months ago now and we have honestly been blown away by the attention and love that is given to our almost 2 year old. The facilities are bright with lots of windows and the gym and playground are incredible. Everything is size and age appropriate. They do a ton of fun projects, read lots of books and truly follow a curriculum. We are lucky enough to have Miss Maryori and Miss Sandy as our son's main teachers. To me there is no more important job in the world than who is watching our children, and these women are kind, smart, and truly care about the well being of these kids. I highly recommend Building Blocks High Ridge.”

“Our 22 months old daughter M has started SLS little dippers class in Sep this year. Let me put it this way: it is the best decision we’ve made!Nowadays most places got good reviews so it’s really hard for first time parents to really tell the difference when they are going through reviews of a daycare. For us, we also heavily relied on our friend’s recommendation to make the decision to switch to SLS. So hopefully what’s written below will be useful to help parents navigate their decision process.1. Level of care and attention provided to kids.At our previous daycare (they have live video), after dropoff kids just wondered around by themselves in the room and sometimes played with whatever never changing toys they could grab. And they were also given sweet snacks and sometimes TV to make them happy after 4pm. One can say oh it is just the warm up time in the morning, or after 5pm everyone is tired. But, this is not how SLS handles it.The attention and care kids receive at SLS is totally different. When kids are dropped off, they will be provided with toys/projects to get them occupied right away. From photos shared, we can tell countless toys are being provided and rotated at SLS throughout each day/week. Another anecdote, I remember once at about 5:15pm when I picked up my daughter, Ms. Ivanna and Ms. Selina were still singing joyfully with the other two remaining kids, while sitting on the floor playing with them. There was not a single sign showing “getting close to the end of the day”. The teachers at SLS truly love kids.2. Rich curriculum thoughtfully curatedFrom how my daughter plays at home with existing toys, new toys, and different reaction to subjects, we can tell she is being exposed to and stimulated by new concepts constantly at SLS. For example, she makes animal sounds such as a hissing sound of a snake when she came across a book with snake in it; she asked for more mushrooms at dinner table by saying the word coincidentally when SLS is teaching about mushroom during this month; she has been wanting to try monkey bar, and also did somersault on her own on our living room carpet, after being exposed to the gymnastics classes brought by Mr. Anatol every Monday. My daughter’s face always lights up with big smiles every morning when I mention Ms. Evelyn or Mr. Anatol’s names to get her ready for daycare…BTW, another thing worth to mention is SLS is very committed on taking kids out when weather allows. We are big on getting kids outdoor as much as possible, and SLS is very aligned on that. And their facility provides plenty outdoor space.3. Attentive owners of the daycareMs. Magda and Ms. Lumi have built a truly supportive community around the kids, the families, and the teachers at SLS. They have been running SLS for 20 years now but they are still staying on top of the daily operations. We always see them every now and then onsite at the daycare. They have chosen to maintain the care quality by not expanding SLS to a larger facility. They would provide tips on parenting when they or the teachers observe something that worth to bring to parents’ attention, but with tactics not to create pressure...”

“My daughter has just completed three years at Bright Beginnings Stamford and I cannot express my gratitude and appreciation enough for the saintly, hard-working staff. Since infancy, they have helped her to learn, grow, thrive and develop manners and relationships. I attribute my daughter's intelligence to them. Every year, her teachers went above and beyond to make sure she was content, comfortable and fulfilled. I am sad we have to leave, as we are moving, but I will always recommend this place as a first school. Thank you for the memories, and for everything.”

“My daughter goes to pre-school here. The nuns love her and treat her like their own. She has been learning a ton and she loves to go to school. I wasn't thrilled with the place initially because they do most of their fund-raising right up front and it set a good tone. I wish they would spread it out throughout the year a little better and pick some better fund-raising partners (other than the holiday show which is wonderful). But I'm glad I kept my daughter here, and I plan to have my younger daughter go here as well.”

“My 1st child went to First United Methodist Nursery School. The program was perfect for him! The teacher to student ratio is fantastic. Each teacher is caring, full of imaginative spirit, and they keep the day running smoothy. I am excited that my 2nd child is signed up to attend in the coming fall!”

“My son has been going to Union Memorial Preschool since he was three years old. We chose this school because of the curriculum and the wonderful teachers. Miss Emily Bennett( teacher and director) made my son's transition from being home till age three to going to school very smooth, she was caring and warm and he developed a special bond with her. We love the whole staff at the school and his teacher his second year Elly Newberry is really someone he looks up to. He has grown so much in so many areas- verbal, social, emotional and academic, and its all thanks to the teachers of Union Memorial Preschool.”

“My daughter has been at TLE for about 2 years, and we've had a very good experience. They are always working to improve where needed, try new strategies and take parent concerns seriously. I've personally seen a boost in the education level the past few months in my daughters classroom (Pre-school 2). My daughter is able to read pretty well, and her teacher is giving her harder vocabulary words to challenge her, which is just what she needed to stay engaged!”

“Caring, Professional and Enriching Environment for my child. So many positive words come to mind when I think about how wonderful Bright Horizons at First Stamford Place has been for my son.Since his first day at 6-months-old in Infants to an energetic and talkative 2-year-old toddler, Bright Horizons has had such a wonderful impact on his early childhood development! The Bright Horizons infant room helped socialize and introduce my son to caring teachers who we still keep in touch with today. After a few months pandemic absence, his new teachers, staff and administration went above and beyond to transition my son to a new class and friends in Toddlers. The app is an incredibly comforting way to know how my son is doing throughout the day (awesome pictures and a personalized note from his teachers!) I love seeing photos of him smiling and laughing with his friends throughout the day.Daily lesson plans describing language, physical movement and art activities (including getting fresh air every day) provide my son with incredible educational and social activities throughout the day.Administration is down-to-earth and easily accessible, which makes for a pleasant experience all around!”

“Great school from my experience! My son loved going to school here from the explorer program all the way to pre-K 4. They have lovely enrichment options like field trips, music and gym. They are welcoming and inclusive to all. The lesson plans are always sent to you as a parent ahead of time and they incorporate family projects into their monthly curriculum. I have been thrilled with them and appreciate that the lunch and snack program is inclusive in the tuition. As a hard working parent, I recognize they are not for profit and run by a board inclusive of parents. These are all benefits to the "everyday" working parent and the reasons why I refer them to my friends. Too often, we are quick to write reviews on negative experiences, myself included. I wanted to take the time to note this positive one for future parents considering applying to this school. Schedule a tour and check them out, you can decide for yourself. I cannot say enough good things, even through the uncertain times of the covid pandemic where everyone was learning to navigate a new path, they communicated upfront and valued parental feedback. Their was notable turnover in staff during that time as with all industries but this has since stabilized. I can honestly say they have always made every effort to accommodate the collective needs of the parents. This speaks volumes as to why my children return year after year.”

“What a fantastic School! My 2 Children attend and previously went to Davenport Ridge.Although we loved Davenport, Westover is an entire different level of school. The staff is great! Caring and attentive and all have the best interests of the kids in mind. Haven't met a single person there who isn't GREAT!”

“The Baby Cottage has been a godsend for our infant daughter. She was a mere 4 months old when she started, and as new parents, my husband and I were inherently concerned about her development and quality of life overall. Each day we pick her up at Baby Cottage, she has an illuminating smile. The staff is extremely professional, kind, and very much engaged with each child. Everyday we receive a detailed hand-written report-out on her progress, which I have a great deal of respect for personally. As parents, we also value that Baby Cottage has no TVs, as we've heard stories where daycares simply use television as a device to distract/calm the children vs. actually interacting with them. Not to mention, they supply all diapers, formula, and food for the children. You cannot find a better situation than this. I highly recommend The Baby Cottage to any parent whether your child is an infant or toddler.”

“My daughter was there for almost two years, she had such a great experience before going into kindergarten. The staff there is wonderful, I never had to worry about her safety or if she was having a bad time. The teacher always had the time to talk to me during pick up. She was very helpful with what my daughter needed and recommendations. I was very happy with everyone there, would definitely recommend!”
