I do not keep my boat at Safe Harbor Marina so I can't speak to the quality of their facility, but I cannot recommend them for mechanical work. I keep my boat at a neighboring marina and reached out for help with my boat's engine. Over the course of a couple months one of their technicians tried several times to solve my problem, and worse told me several times that he had fixed it when the engine clearly was not running right. After seeking another opinion, another mechanic was able to diagnose my problem within an hour and then replace the broken part within an hour as well, and now my boat runs like new. If I hadn't used Safe Harbor for this issue I likely would have saved signficant time and money.

Any Jack Brewer Yard with maybe the exception of Post Road now Safe Harbors are Destination Marunas usually with amenities like pools too restaurants, beautiful flowers, club houses, spotless bathrooms and jaunty rooms and activities. Well worth the stop.

I have not yet had the opportunity to have my new boat at Safe Harbor Yacht Haven, but I wanted to share my favorable experience already. I purchased a boat late fall and immediately had to find a place for her home port. One of the yacht brokers I had dealt with offered that he kept his boat at SHYH, and off I went. Jeff, the Dock Master, was most solicitous, and gave me a tour of the facility and even allowed me to choose from the available slips, after giving me the pros and cons of each location. No pressure, just a welcoming attitude. Being able to access the Safe Harbor "network" is one of the real advantages here. While delivering my boat down from Boston, I took the opportunity to layover at one of their other Connecticut locations, and found that I was treated as family and not as a transient. Owning a boat is a new experience for me, but this team has already relieved many of my concerns as a novice.

Very clean and appears to be very well-managed! The personnel are very nice and we walked up and down the boardwalk every day with our doggy and it is a marina I would never hesitate one second bringing my boat to.

I've been sailing since boyhood, and have had a boat with my family at YHE since about 1978. I know I’m older, and romanticize the simplicity and peace of my youth, but this isn’t my father’s Yacht Haven.The docks are well maintained with wide berths and great protection. The staff is friendly and capable. The facilities are clean. But the peace and tranquility of all things is destroyed by the beer garden operated on the property. Ruined. Music played until midnight and beyond is one thing (bad music and foul lyric laced rap that I have to explain to my young children); but 20 somethings sleeping it off in their cars in the lot, racing through it at unsafe speeds, playing their own music in their cars seriously detracts from the neighborhood. Last weekend I was nearly in an accident, and the weekend before had to remind them at ten after midnight that closing time was midnight. Their patrons also have been known to help themselves to dock access, found sleeping on our boats. I’ve never felt the need to lock my boat and take the keys before.I will spend each weekend calling police to the marina to deal with this, and have little hope that the “we’re working to resolve this” response I am getting from the local management actually goes anywhere. Bottom line is it may not be worth it to stay here. It's sad to see what was once the jewel of the Western Sound fall victim to this neighbor. I feel bad for local management; they may in fact be helpless. The spot this bar occupies would make a great pool deck.

I Booked thru DockWa as directed, never received a slip map or slip assignment. We arrived after 5 pm and took an open slip went looking for someone to get some direction there was none to be had. The docks are protected with security gates, we had no idea what the code was to get back in. Unless you get in during there work day expect no contact. It was a learning experience for me, I have been schooled.

My comment is if you are looking for a marina to just tie up to ok. Friendly staff and helpful and nice place.If your looking for more like dinner or a bar to get off your boat and relax or walk thru a town and shop then forget this (3 marinas) place.Safe harbor yacht Haven has nothing here. Wish we new before we paid.

Great docks, competent dock crew, clean facilities....spoiled only by noise from nearby "beer garden" playing music at ear=-shattering volume late into the night. How they permitted this is beyond me.....
