This pharmacy used to be great when owned & operated by Dominic. Since then it has changed hands once if not twice This would not necessarily be a bad thing, except that the service and communication have completely deteriorated under the current pharmacist to the point of this place being unsafe to use. We've been a customer of Professional Pharmacy in Stamford for 7 years, having 2 medications compounded every 2-3 months for our small dog. That means we've spent thousands of dollars supporting this business over the years. Over that time, whenever we've needed refills, we've called in 2-3 days in advance to give them enough time to compound the medications so that they were ready for pickup when we arrived. While we've continued to follow this pattern with the new pharmacist, 2 of our last 3 refill visits resulted in 45 minute waits in the lobby while he compounded the meds on the spot. With 2-3 days advance notice seems a phone call to alert us to a delay would be in order, as we've always been extremely flexible, but that didn't happen. We didn't dwell on the poor service, but what finally did it for us was our last visit when the pharmacist handed us the meds and stated that he changed the base so that now we would not have to refrigerate the meds at home. We didn't think anything of it at the time, but when we got home we noticed that the liquids were now very oily and thin rather than watery and thick. Administering these orally to our 5 lb dog resulting in his vomiting all over the floor 5-10 minutes after receiving his doses. Obviously this didn't seem right, and we alerted the pharmacist to what was happening. His response quickly changed and over the phone he stated that he changed the formula because his supplier couldn't get the base for the meds that he was previously using. Seems like that is something he probably should have let us know before preparing the meds and billing us $150. He did promise to try to get the old base and remake the meds, but 3 weeks passed before we heard from him again and during that time we had to rush our dog to the ER because he was vomiting uncontrollably and could not stand up. That trip cost us $2,000, and the ER vets clearly stated that no animal should be given an oil based compounded medication because it upsets their stomach and in the case of small dog like ours the resulting vomiting means that the animal is not receiving the medication that he needs. They went on to say that any compounding pharmacist should know that animals need water based meds. We went 7 years without incident then almost lost our dog because of a complete lack of communication and no standard of care under this new pharmacist. We'll get over the ER cost, but we strongly recommend you stay away from this place as they haven proven themselves incompetent and seem to value money over safety now.

This pharmacy is located in the Tully health center. This is a medical facility with all kinds of treatment centers from immediate care to physical therapy, speech therapy, blood drawing center and much more. While at the Tully for an appointment with my 5 and 1 year old, for speech and occupational therapy, I was seated outside of the pharmacy. My one year old, who has been going to the Tully center for PT/OT for CHD issues since he was 6 months, was excitedly screaming at a bird he saw outside the building. As most parents would, I tried to tell him to stop yelling, I was even getting embarrassed. He screamed about three times and I could feel my face hot and red as I tried to distract him. There were, as always, a lot of people there making me feel better by saying things like " it's ok he's just a baby". As I'm kneeling behind my baby, who's standing and just about ready to run off, at the doorway of the pharmacy a pharmacist says "stop yelling". My jaw dropped and I was waiting for him to say something along the lines of just kidding or laugh but no. Again he said "stop yelling" and even added a "we don't want to hear that". The people who were standing there and even the people walking by couldn't believe what he said just as much as I couldn't. I wanted to cry out of frustration, embarrassment and anger. He turned around and went back and I didn't say anything at all in attempt to collect myself. When I felt like I could talk, without crying and yelling, I went in and asked for his manager and he said that's me. I asked is there someone higher and he said the director, also me, Domenic Sammarco. To not make this already long story even longer. Myself and my child were disrespected by someone who thinks he's got the right to be rude and mean to a woman with a child. It's sad the world we live in. This man right here makes it worse for everyone. If a baby yelling in a medical facility, meant for patients of all kind even special needs, bothers you then move your pharmacy elsewhere. Better yet just learn to be courteous and kind. That's all.

This pharmacy has saved me on quite a few occasions already. When other pharmacies were unable to help, Dominic was knowledgeable, friendly, reasonably priced, and most importantly, reliable! I highly recommmend him, especially for specialized medical needs.

I had a great experience with this pharmacy. They were able to compound a mixture of activated curcurmin and ginger that helped my severe tendinitis signignifcantly. Plus, they have been unfailingly helpful on other occasions, as well, offering to mail my prescriptions to my vacation address when I ran out.

Most highly recommend this pharmacy.!!!The pharmacists are professional, courteous, very well trained, and expert at what they do. Either human or pet prescriptions AND they are a compounding pharmacy! I am a physician and have very high standards regarding my own personal pharmacy as well as the pharmacy for many of my patients. I trust Professional Pharmacy and feel safe and grateful that these pharmacists are an integral aspect of the medical team.

Alma (lady with the gross eyebrows) was extremely rude, she eyeballed me from the moment i walked into the store, I had questions on some cold meds and she completely ignored me. I know she heard me bc she made full eye contact, i told her she was being rude and wanted to speak to her manager. She then told me she was the manager and proceeded to tell me that if i wasn't buying anything "in the next 30 seconds" to get out and as I grabbed some thereaflu and checked my wallet she said "we don't want your drug money" .. At that point i had enough, I had to walk out. Ive never felt so judged and discriminated against. If i could give less than a star i would.

Alma I think her name is was very rude and I do not believe she is fit to be dealing with peoples prescriptions. The pharmacy had horrible customer service and I do not recommend them in any shape or form. Pass this place by and find another place which is probably cheaper and nicer to their customers For all I know she may screw up the prescription Be careful people!!

I've been to this pharmacy over a dozen times. The staff (both counter and the pharmacist) have been unfailingly kind and helpful, and the few times I've needed to ask them to prepare a prescription a bit more quickly than normal, they've been able to help me.
