I'm signing my lease for my third year here and can't say enough about the building! My apartment is a true 1 bedroom with a great amount of space and natural light. The staff are very nice and responsive whenever anything is needed. The location is also great as the building is walking distance to the main strip of bars and restaurants as well as the library and a Target!

Recently moved in and several big pluses over my last place.1. Security 24/7.2. Package handling done by security and they even go the extra mile and let you know when things have arrived for you.3. Maintenance is handled by a dedicated crew of guys that actually know and understand their jobs.Location is great and it is very hard to hear your neighbors through the walls so it's quiet and you can still turn your music up if you want a bit with out disturbing others.A great place overall and I will update in 2 months or so!

I just got off the phone after calling to express interest in this apartment building as a potential renter. The receptionist who answered the phone had the WORST attitude, it was extremely disrespectful. Not only did she laugh at me over the phone but she talked to me like I was a child. Very rude and a huge turn off to anyone wanting to live there...

I've lived at Canterbury Green for several years and have had an awesome experience. The apartments are charming, we have underground parking, laundry on each floor and a beautiful garden area which sits alongside a gorgeous 19th C. church. I highly recommend Canterybury Green!

This place is one of the worst apartments I've ever lived in. The only good thing about it is the location. They send someone into your apartment at least once a month, you'll hear sirens all hours of the day and night due to the fire department being right behind the apartment building. They will charge you $25 if you get locked out of your apt. The laundry machine breaks every couple of months, and you have to contact the company who own the machines to have them come fix it.If the fake wooden floors get wet, they will pop up and if you don't report it in time, they'll charge you for repairs. Speaking of repairs, when you move out they will nickel and dime you for every little thing they can. I didn't get back any of my $1750 deposit back, even I was there for 7 years and there wasn't anything wrong except for normal wear and tear.Stay far far away from this place, there's tons of other apartments in Stamford, any of them are better than this place.

Been here since last two months. Old Beaten down facilities. Not so great building management service. Expensive for the quality.

Absolutely love Canterbury Green Apartments. I lived in a lofted place and it was spectacular. I would have stayed forever if I wasn't moving out of state. The building management is awesome and the area is ideal. 10/10 would recommend.

Very recently moved into this building, but I wanted to leave a review about my experience so far. Everyone I've been in contact with has been endlessly accommodating and helpful! Justin gave me a tour and helped me find and select an apartment. He was so patient through dozens of emails and follow up questions and I'm now in an apartment I really love. Margaret and Dina at the management office have been great. They worked with me to have everything set up and ready for a seamless move the weekend after Thanksgiving. They all are super responsive to emails and are more than willing to answer any questions and concerns. My move into Canterbury Green has been surprisingly and thankfully low stress!

A nice place to live, I lived here before but moved away and came back , I love my studio, roomy state of the arch kitchen, right in the heart of downtown and near everything.

During Coronavirus nation-wide shut down, I expected to hear something from RFR (Canterbury's leasing company), like I had from every organization I'd ever given my email address to. The only thing I received was my parking garage invoice for the following month. When I emailed the main office in NY to ask if any plan was made as to whether they'd accept partial or late payments as its residents are now quarantined and unable to work (I explained that my hours had already been cut since the beginning of the month), they did not respond but instead fowarded my message to our location's leasing manager to respond to me saying that they will be going about "business as usual" and that there are no such plans. I'm assuming that if this were not the first time I would be late in paying rent, I would also be subject to their late fee. Thanks for all the understanding during a literal pandemic, RFR. *Update: a month later into shut-down, my boyfriend and I still waiting for unemployment claims to be processed, no luck with one work, and RFR still claiming things are "business as usual".

Wow, what a difference that replacing ONE person can make. They replaced the horrible management representative to a lovely woman named Denise. She was so responsive and changed my experience at Canterbury Green, hence why I'm updating this review from 1 star to 4 stars. She apologized for the incident and compensated me for the issue during the lease renewal. Additionally they installed a second security phone line and started sending notification emails if loud renovations would occur (after I complained). As I mentioned, Canterbury's location and price are unmatched. When my lease was up, I started looking around the area, only to find out that folks in the building next door were paying about $200 -250 more than I was paying per month. Perks: Weekday shuttle to the train station, the free trolley stops right outside the apartment (awesome if you don't have a car or going to a boozy brunch at Harbor Point :), LOCATION (right next to the mall, movie theaters, and downtown) price, space [absolutely loved my 2br 2ba], responsive management and maintenance team (after Denise of course), friendly security staff (after they made adjustments), quiet building. Laundry unit on each floor. In my 3 years of living at Canterbury Green, I rarely ran into people in the building, which is great if you want a quiet place to live. Absolutely LOVED the courtyard. Cons: Pay $101 each month for parking (underground garage). Elizabeth, who runs the small gym ($30 a month), is insanely unresponsive. Little gym amenities. No social gathering area. Residential building attached to office building so one sometimes hears construction at ungodly hours. ------------------------------------------ Review from 2016 I like the apartment's location and my apartment, but God forbid you have to interact with the management team (RFR Realty). A situation occurred at my apartment, in which the previous tenant showed up at 10pm on a Sunday night, believing he still had the apartment. I do not know why he believed the apartment was still his, but I suspect it is due to miscommunication with RFR Realty and the tenant. I believe that RFR Realty did not take out his access information from the intercom system at that time, and that is how he entered the building. Although the security guards are very nice, the security that night was lax. The security guard never showed up and I ended up having to call the police. RFR Realty tells you 24/7 security, but there is only one security phone line for over 100 apartments (which is approximately 200-250 residents). When that line is in use, no calls can get through, which is frightening when you are in an emergency. My interaction with the RFR Realty management since the incident has been appalling. It seemed that they were trying to sweep the incident under the rug without addressing it. I was constantly asking for updates (with little action taken on the management's part). The management team offered to make it up to me by giving a gift card.... Two months later and I haven't received anything. Also, I woke up to construction noise around 6:30am on a work weekday. After investigating, I found out it was the Canterbury Green's construction crew working on an office space downstairs. Most of the apartments have offices on the first floor. Apparently, the construction for those office spaces could only be done during those early hours. Also, you have to pay extra to use the gym ($30/per month) and for a parking garage space ($100 a month). The amenities are very basic.

My wife and I lived at Canterbury Green for seven months before deciding we needed a two-bedroom place, which wasn't available at the time. Reluctantly we moved out. Canterbury is in a great location, with plenty of affordable underground parking and a professional grade gym. The view of the church courtyard below is beautiful and tranquil, with a nice night-time skyline view as well. The management staff is very responsive, though the biggest compliment I would give them is that they are very much NO DRAMA! Move in was easy, and they were quite flexible with scheduling us last minute for a reservation of the elevator to facilitate our move in, and equally flexible when we needed to extend a month when our plans changed on move out. We kept our place well-maintained, and they returned our entire deposit promptly. Lastly, Canterbury is extremely quiet. If you are a professional simply wanting to mind your business and go about your day, this is the place. If you are looking for a social environment you may want to keep looking. For me, I really enjoyed it!

Update: (Change from 1 star to 3 stars) The RFR agent I described below is thankfully no longer with the company. So far, my interaction with the new representative has been pleasant. She apologized for the incident and compensated me for the issue during my lease renewal. In addition, they have installed a second security phone line and have started sending notification emails if they will be performing any loud renovations (after I complained).
