Went there at 8:30am when the store opens at 8am and the doors were locked still and the lady working literally waved us away and said “go away!” The owners needs to do better in hiring actual workers

This is the worst DG around. It's like a neighborhood tag sale threw up in a store. It's really a shame how disorganized and messy it is because it is a beautiful building.

WATCH THE PRICING AS THEY RING YOU UP. This place operates in blatant violation of CT consumer protection law. On two occasions, food that I bought rang up at a higher price than what was listed on the shelf. The law says that if that happens, they are supposed to give you that item free. That law is also supposed to be conspicuously posted at the register for customers to see. Instead, the sign is hidden behind the register, and if you notice the higher charge, you'll get some song and dance from the cashier about the store not being responsible for pricing and the person that can handle the issue not being there. I went back some days later and again was told that the manager was not there and was only in for an hour or two in the morning. When I emailed a complaint through the company website, they acknowledged receiving it, but after a month still had not done anything. I had to file a complaint with the CT dept of consumer protection and the Better Business Bureau. After nearly two months, the district manager assured me that he would have a gift card waiting for me at the store as compensation. However, when I went back, nobody there knew anything and I was told I'd have to try to catch the manager. Apparently the manager is only there for a few hours a day, so they don't have to follow the law the rest of the time. If they refuse to give you the free food item when it rings up at a higher price, buy it anyway, keep the receipt, take a photo of the shelf pricing, and file a complaint with both agencies.UPDATE: I finally received the gift card on my 4th visit (3rd return) to the store.
