Exceptional care and compassion was given as we dealt with the passing of a special friend.

Now I'm aware vet visits are costly. But my experience here to get my 1 pet neutered was outrageous. I brought my cat in for his first visit it was just over 600 dollars. I thought that was crazy but I payed. I call a week later roughly to schedule his neuter. They tell me I need a follow up appointment before the neuter appointment for blood work I was annoyed because my cat got blood work at his last appointment. But they said this is to make sure it's safe to put him under for the nutur. I ask if this blood work is mandatory as I feel at this point there trying to purposely squeeze more money out of me but against my better judgement i scheduled the blood work anyways as it's the closest vet and they had availability. Fast forward blood work gets done and they charge me over 300 dollars i was charged for a 60 dollar consultation when all I was there for was blood work. To me the logic isn't there. Now I'm mad but I already had the neuter appointment made so I gritted my teeth and said I'll just get this over with. They have given me a estimate of 347 for the neuter in previous discussions with the vet. So the day before the neuter appointment they call to confirm the appointment and I say yes and I wanted to be absolutely certain of the cost so I ask again to double check if it was 347 but to my surprise it ended up being like 440 I was immediately triggered and say that's not what we discussed and she said this was the high side estimate and I said that's what you said last time with the 347. So I cut her off before she responds and said fine I'll just reschedule the appointment and she told me that we can reschedule but we keep your 100 dollar deposit for this appointment even though it's still 24 hours before appointment time and I was furious and said that makes no sense but fine I'll keep the appointment and I'll figure it out. I have my boyfriend call later that day because all of this happened while I was at work so I couldn't resolve the issue myself in that moment. My boyfriend calls and he asks how much the price was after telling her the reason for the call and she quoted him 500 now instead of the 440 and the 347 she previously quoted me so he hung up because they clearly just want money and they don't care at all. I will never go back to this vet and I missed my appointment because I'm not paying 500 dollars for a 2 year old cat to get neutered that's crazy talk. I will find a more professional establishment to carry out my baby boys neuter and future health issues that might ever occur.
I was rude because they are liars who make up every excuse in the book how they aren't wrong when they are. This place needs to be shut down your a disgrace to all vets.

I have used Somers Veterinary Hospital in the past and was looking forward to being a customer with our new puppy. We made a appointment and brought our puppy in on 11/20. They have a mask requirement, which is their choice. I have no problem wearing a mask, however since there are no current Covid mandates in effect, I do not carry a mask. My wife and I were turned away because we refused to pay 5 dollars each for a paper disposable mask. The vet said she has instituted the charge because people throw masks in her parking lot. She said it is disrespectful, and she is tired of paying for masks so folks can comply with her policy. These are her own words! We were about to spend several hundred dollars at this establishment!!! Sorry....You lost a customer over two 10 cent paper masks. Not good business. There are other places to spend our money, and that is exactly what we will do. We are the one who were disrespected!!! I see other reviews that are not favorable. I do not recommend using this vet because obviously it's not about taking care of the animals, but it's about punishing the clients.

This place is ridiculous. The vet talks down to us doggy parents when we have questions. The staff can be dismissive and overall rude. At this point I don't trust there practices, especially when they wouldn't let us into the exam room and when we are finally allowed in we have to wear a mask which we weren't informed about until we got there. Easily the worse vet we have ever gone to. Be wary of bringing your fury ones here. Trust was never developed.

The Vet and her attendants for all very nice and very helpful. They took my pets health and well-being and put it at foremost of their concerns. I enjoyed talking to the vet very much. They are fantastic.

This used to be a good vet back when Doc was the main vet. Since then it's become a money making business. Beware of a vet hospital that doesn't post prices and won't tell you prices until they shock you with the bill. They sell unnecessary shots and milk pet owners and the front desk people are rude. It saddens me. My black lab was 12 years old and a diabetic, blind and unable to walk and had lost control of her bowels. They had me giving her shots twice a day, pills that were really expensive and knew the prognosis wasn't going to change and the dog was deteriorating. Gave me a hard time when I called to have her put out of her pain, asked me if the dog was having a hard time or was it just me not wanting to care for her. Heartless thing to say to a pet owner.

We're switching vets for our dog simply because the Enfield vet wasn't available for any appointments for at least 6 months out. Therefore, I can't really give a review on Somers Veterinary Hospital, other than to say that they are very friendly on the phone and accommodating when it comes to making an appointment.
