I have called Dorset Crossing home for 6 years. I love it here. The grounds and apartments are beautiful and the people are nice. Management is easy to deal with and maintenance is responsive. The pool, gym, and clubhouse are amazing amenities. My family like the privacy, safety, and excellent school district.

We are living here for almost a year now and it’s a very good experience.! So quiet and peaceful. neighbours are respectful and friendly. i wish the management respond to the phone calls more quickly but i think that shouldn’t impact the overall experience of us in this community.HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

We just moved in and have already felt very welcome by everyone! The moving process was very easy and management answered all my questions quickly and so nice, making it a lot less of a stressful process. The unit was clean when we got in and all the neighbors we’ve met seem friendly and welcoming too! So far we love it here!

I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this complex since moving in at the beginning of the month. If you’re looking for somewhere to rent in the area, I definitely recommend The Pointe at Dorset Crossing!

This apartment complex Is one of the best in Simsbury/Connecticut! Management is really on top of everything, super friendly and easy to work with, And maintenance is really on top of things as well. If you want a safe and quiet place to live, this is the place for you!

Where do I even start? My husband, daughter (1.5 at the time) and I and our dog moved into this dreadful community 1 year ago. To start this off lightly, we had about two decent weeks in this place, until our bottom neighbor, started harassing my husband everyday that our daughter was too loud and tell us not to vacuum. First problem was her. We let the obnoxious neighbor issue dissipate- and just as we felt "content" again another issue. My mother needed a key fob to get into the building because she watched our daughter while my husband and i were at work. I had to BEG the leasing office for ONE key fob after my mom got locked out with my daughter. My mom went to the leasing office and was scared and upset because she couldn't get in the building and ("manager") did nothing. My mom was crying and panicking because her phone had died and ha that is the only way you can get into these buildings. Luckily, Chris, our neighbor at the time, happened to see my mom and help her get into the building. After this we would continuously get community threatening emails about being towed or kicked out if they smelled smoke coming from our apartment building, but funny enough ("manager") lives at the complex and we've seen her smoking on multiple occasions. interesting. Everything about these apartments are disgusting. The pool was closed over the summer almost everyday due to a "chemical imbalance" and there was always slimy crap in the pool, absolutely disgusting. Along with the apartment itself- 100% has black mold in the walls- we were all always sick. Constant leaks in the ceiling of our daughters bathroom that NEVER was looked at our fixed. An ant infestation, and visible mold in random places. Do NOT live here, keep yourself healthy.
The biggest problem is the management company, but ("manager") is arguably the most nasty person I've ever had to deal with in my life-my husband and i were going to be getting paid later than we expected two months in a row and couldn't make rent until midway through the month and they threatened us with sending our account to their lawyers and we were responsible for all the lawyer fees. what kind of place IS this? This is a dog friendly community- well one of the residents let his dog off leash and it came running straight to my dog and took a chunk out of my dogs neck. They did NOTHING and neither did animal control. My husband and I agreed we needed to get the hell out of this place. So we did, lease ends and we had to finish our lease out because if we wanted to leave early they were going to charge us thousands of dollars to leave. Are we prisoners?
We move out and get and email a few days later saying they are charging us 909$ for the scratches on the fridge because we never marked that there were scratches on the fridge when we moved into this prison. Below is the picture i received from ("manager") while i was at work. A true joke and i have absolutely no words. We paid 2,312$ a month for 2 bed 2 bath and our apartment is now going for 2700 or 2800$. If you don't read the reviews before moving here shame on you, you will be so sorry. DO NOT move here if you want peace and to keep your sanity. Stay far away from this place, it is bad, bad news.

I honestly can't say enough about living here .Alexis the manager is extremely communicative and accessible since signing my lease .It is my second time resigning my lease and although looking for my forever home , I feel blessed to live in such a great community .The apartments are beautiful and well maintained . The Club house is beautiful and grounds well kept.Kudos to the management on keeping us informed -with activities ,food trucks and doing all they can to build a community here .I have found the residents to be kind and friendly as well and dog friendly !
Thanks to each of them for making this a great experience .

Dorset Crossing is dog-friendly, has some nice amenities, and a wonderful maintenance staff, but I can't imagine making it a home for very long. One of the largest problems is that the management company clearly has contempt for the people who live here and the number of people we have met sharing that opinion is astounding. I would have to suspect that the company thinks cycling through tenants is good for business. Whether duping new tenants with deceptive sales pitches (us) or drastic rent increases (our neighbors), Dorset Crossing is a place to avoid getting into a relationship with.
In terms of everything else, the apartments themselves feel solid, with a minimal amount of character. The appliances are mid-tier and the windows are drafty. Having young children in the space can be challenging because the floors and walls do not keep the sound in. Unfortunately, there isn't really any where else for them to play on the property except for the blacktop in front of the parking garages. We used the pool a couple of times, but were wary of the line of green scum around the edge.
Overall, it is what it is, but I would not do it again.
