In late May 2024, I purchased a 2021 XC 60 certified Volvo with approx. 25K miles from Mitchell Volvo in Simsbury, CT. While shopping for this car, I specifically asked the condition of the brakes and was told they were 8mm. They assured me they go through the car and run a safety point inspection prior to sale. Shortly after I owned the vehicle, there was a grinding sound coming from the front brakes like metal on metal. I left a voice mail with the salesperson and emailed the business manager about the problem who contacted me a couple of days later after I already had a different Volvo dealership repair the brake problem. The front brakes were metal on metal, pads less than 1mm. They also found outdated software, and a faulty mirror sensor (I had to manually re-set my mirrors each time I reversed). Also, when I purchased the car, they tried to add on a $1.5K Simonizing fee that was not part of the purchase price. I told them it was deceptive advertising and they removed it.

We recently purchased a car from Mitchell Volvo. We had been once before and could not make a deal, and I was fine with that. They were honest and it just didn't work out. About 3 weeks later we returned to look at a different car and it all worked out fine. I absolutely love the car. The people where are pretty good. Nobody had the car sales slimy stigma. Just normal people trying to do a good job, and that was greatly appreciated. No pressure at all. At the end of the day, they made a sale, we got a fantastic car and they now have a new customer.
Edit: Had my first service the other week. Great job. I dropped it off early due to a storm coming and they got it done early and said I could pick it up early.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this dealership.I had been to our local Volvo dealership here in Northampton,Ma. and had the worst experience in my life from not standing by the price they quoted and totally misleading us.I was very hesitant to call another but I did and got Alex as our salesperson and everything he said over the phone happened.We put a deposit on the xc60 and took the trip a few days later to see it and everything was as we were told.Josh in financing got us a better rate than Volvo offered and they were beyond transparent.I spent my whole career in sales before MS forced my retirement.Trained a lot of salespeople over 35 years and this group were respectful and honest.Alittle bit of a drive but so worth it.Thanks Alex, MaMa loves her new Car.will recommend your dealership to all family and friends.Thanks again

Samantha and our valet, Steve, were both very helpful and professional. Steve took the time to assist my wife on our XC 90's navigation system. Very pleased with the service on my daughter's S60 and have decided to have Mitchell's do the annual service on our XC 90 this summer; we've had done at Volvo Manhattan the last 3 years since we're in the city for most of the year.

Mitchell Volvo Sales is in my opinion one of the fairest dealerships to do business with.
Sales Prices are very transparent as they are all listed out on the website.

Poor advertising of price of vehicles!! You go there thinking their prices are reasonable but watch out for the up charge of $ 1500 for some coating they put on their vehicles! It should be an option or included in price !! If u don’t finance through them , which I can get better rates elsewhere by far, then add another $2500 price to car . Salesman was so knowledgeable bout car but seemed to leave all that out when showing cars , then pushing bout putting a deposit on car cause they go fast … we were there for 3 hours and were the only ones looking at car !! We went to 3 dealerships that day , ALL were loaded with people shopping . We found the exact same car I wanted but a better model , T6 inscription, with same mileage , 2 years older , for $13,000 less then what this place was trying gouge out of me . Avoid this crooked dealership !

I was casually looking at cars on line when Roger Brown from Mitchell Volvo reached out to me with a few options for me. He was so respectful, helpful, not at all pushy, knowledgeable and very cognizant of the economy and budget. I never had an easier car buying experience! Honestly, had it not been for Roger, I probably would not have considered the Volvo XC40 and I just love it!! Thank you Roger! Mitchell Volvo has a superstar in you!

I dont do a lot of reviews but I had to post this one because of the experience I just recently had with Mitchell Volvo.
Seth was my salesman and Dom walked me through the financials. This is how every car buying experience should be. Seth was awesome from having the car I wanted to test drive all ready to go when I arrived to the test drive experience right down to his knowledge of the car and all of the features. What he didnt know he made sure he found out right away. Dom was personable and honest and straight forward with the financial aspect. This is why you pay a little more not just for the car itself, but for the entire end to end experience in sales and service and everyone who is a part of the team. Thank you!! This is my second volvo and I am a happy buyer :)
