Stopped in the new Big Y in Simsbury and what a beautiful store! It's set up like there store in Great Barrington,Ma. Very well done. Great customer service!!!

Great grocery store, with fresh produce, some even local and great cuts of meat. The best deals and coupons come through a free membership. There is also a great lunch/dinner with fresh sandwiches, hot pizza and chicken.

This is specifically for the deli, I go I between 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm (lunch for most is anywhere between 11-2 pm for people) and every time I’ve gone in the grab and go/food bar is bare. Horrible for someone who just wants to grab something quick. Please fix this so I can give you a better rating!

I was not very impressed. I've driven by here quite a few times, but when I finally went in, it was a letdown.
As big as it felt, it's all trickery. The further you walk to the back, the more cramped and crowded it felt. The aisles were too small for the number of people trying to shop, and the checkout line was very understaffed.
Also, the parking lot really sucked. It was hard to get into and difficult to navigate.
I can't wait to never go back.
On the other hand, they had what I was looking for, and the prices weren't awful. So, really, it's a mixed bag.
The Big Y in Avon is much better.

I’ve driven by the new Simsbury Big Y hundreds of times on route to my relatives but never actually stopped until this weekend. How beautiful this store is! I just always love all Big Y’s because of their products and prices and welcoming feeling, I used to live in Southwick and loved having it right down the road. This new store however, takes the cake! I love how the flower and produce open up to the outside so you feel like you’re at a street market! And of course, staff was friendly as they always are at Big Y. All I have near me is a crummy Stop & Shop now… I think it might be worth taking a longer trip to shop at Big Y though!

The Big Y is a grocery store chain located in Connecticut and Massachusetts; there are currently 73 locations. It's a family business founded in 1936. According to Forbes Magazine, it is the 210th largest privately owned company in the U.S. It's also top 2 out of the top 5 grocery stores in New England.
This one in Simsbury is very similar to the one in Avon. I've never heard of them until moving to Connecticut. I like the layout and everything looked so fresh. Customer service was good from some interactions with employees. Another big plus is the parking lot; I love that they have a spot for people with kids. The place was busy when I went, but self check out was quick and easy. I'm a fan of their prepared foods, bakery, meats/deli, and produce sections. I think the prices are comparable to their competitors. Overall, a good chain to purchase all of your groceries.

Very clean. I am definitely not a fan of ringing up my own groceries, however. I don't work there, I'm not a cashier and they don't pay me !
