Not a bad grocery store. They have 1 door for in and another door for out which definitely controls traffic at the entrance. The store had good lighting which always help with shopping. The attendant at self checkout was helpful and pleasant.

The one star is because the pharmacy is excellent. The rest of the store is a mess, literally, with the absolute worst customer service. Deli - no one working there on a busy day. Employee walks by and argues that she is NOT supposed to help customers but guesses she has no choice. She was busy carting what looked like spoiled chicken through the produce aisle while people were shopping. The Cashier doesn't know who the manager is. DISTRICT MANAGER isn't interested in hearing about better service elsewhere as an example or past poor customer service that led to giving up on the store altogether, no wonder the attitudes are so bad - their leader has the same apathetic anti customer behavior. Stay far away, go to shop rite across the street or Big Y.

I wish there was a zero rating I could give. It forces you to give a 1 or more. Ive been going to this location for many years. I will go out of my way to go to another gas station. The gas attend was extremely rude and uneducated he had no clue what he was doing. He was extremely rude like he couldn't be bothered. This is 3rd time this has happened to me. The stop and shop store itself has gone down hill. The workers are mean the deli always looks dirty. Stop and shop lost a loyal customer.

This is a great Stop & Shop, one of my favorite locations in this area. The store is very clean, well lit, and well maintained. It's well stocked and carries a huge selection of products. The floral department is excellent! They've got a huge variety of flowers and plants that all look very pretty and beautiful. They also have some very nice seasonal decorations. The bakery is also excellent! They've got a huge variety of baked goods, and they have some items that I haven't seen at other locations. All the baked goods look fresh and delicious. The cakes and cupcakes are all decorated very nicely. We've bought cupcakes and french here and they were fresh and delicious! The bakery department is always well decorated, especially around various holidays and it looks nice and festive. The deli is good and clean with friendly staff. The prepared chicken was all hot and fresh. The sandwiches also looked fresh and tasty and were well stocked with a large selection. The salad bar at this location always looks wonderful! It's well stocked with a huge variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. This location has a hot wing bar and the wings there all looked fresh and delicious. The produce is good here. The berries, cabbages, lettuce, and various fruits and vegetables looked fresh and were well stocked. The seafood looked fresh and was well stocked with a wide selection. The meats looked fresh. There is a Stop & Shop gas station located next to the store. The staff at this location are all friendly, attentive, and helpful. On one visit, I had an issue at self checkout, and two employees were very kind and extremely helpful in solving the problem. They went out of their way to assist me and they helped me out a lot. The ladies in the bakery department are friendly. I saw the store manager walking around a few times making sure everything was running smoothly, which is good to see. He actually said hello and was very friendly and helpful! Unfortunately, I have found multiple expired items on the shelves. Make sure you check the dates to make sure what you're buying is good. Sometimes the meat section isn't fully stocked at times, but the it is well stocked and fresh in the morning. Overall, this is a great Stop & Shop, one of the better ones in this area. The staff are amazing, the store is clean, and the foods are fresh with a wide variety. This store is well run and serves the area well. 4 to 4.5 stars for the Shelton Stop & Shop.

Poor customer experience.Two cashiers max at the busiest times. No baggers. Charging 10 cents for PAPER bags even though cost is part of overhead. Deli: upwards of $11 per pound - service is SLOW. Workers openly curse and gripe about union issues. I questioned why my ham was shredded as opposed to cold cut slices: that's how we do it -the slicer "sucks" (his words, not mine).

Bad customer service. If you need something & don't know where it is there's no one to help you. The cashiers are usually not friendly. There are never enough lanes open and hardly ever a "bagger". I noticed this business is "unclaimed" which just goes to show you management isn't even reading what their customers think! There are much better grocery stores nearby so we don't have to deal with a poor shopping experience.

Typical Supermarket gas Island. This location is a bit nicer than some other locations.
