It is fascinating to visit various Stop and Shop stores around Connecticut. You never know what to expect as far as organization, cleanliness, and most importantly staffing. I was pleasantly surprised with the wide variety of flowers in the florist area in this particular store. The display was elegant, colorful, and showed a lot of effort on the part of someone who really has a passion for flowers. I looked around to compliment whoever was working there, but I did not see anyone.The rest of the store was moderately stocked, and again, very few staff were present and available. It was a little surprising that this particular store was not as clean as some of the others, as that seemed to be one of this chain's stronger attributes. I would definitely go to this store for floral arrangements in the future!

Never more than one cashier working. Have to self-checkout always. And the other day a 70 something woman employee hovered over me entire time. How she could see I had an "English cucumber" and pressed average cucumber from 10 machines away is beyond me. Granted I didn't have my glasses on. But there was a man her age struggling, and I guess she felt I looked young enough to shoplift or something. Even after I paid and bagged myself. She still stood there standing and watching til I walked away. GET a grip. Rarely do they have the rotisserie chicken I buy for my dogs and when they do, they are puny and dried out. I always go to ShopRite, friendly, great service, great stock. Rotisserie chicken awesome. And they don't treat their customers who self-check out like they are on the most wanted list. Respect is key. And good quality as well. Went to S&S today because I happen to be in that shopping center already. Cindi just cross the street next time, I will.??

Pretty much like every other Stop & Shop you've been at. Plenty of fresh produce but in this instance we were looking for flowers and their shop had beautiful bouquets.

Shop at this store every Sunday AM. Staff is miserable. Deli is the worst service, every time. Like they're doing me a favor. If they don't want to work for a living, stay home. I've complained before, this is my last time going to this store.

They really should stop this service. I order almost 100.00 worth of stuff and only get 40.00 worth of stuff or less. They NEVER! Have everything!! The purpose is for you not to have to go to the grocery store if you don't want to. But in the end you still have to go to the store. So what's the purpose in PEAPOD? Shipt is better but don't take EBT. Shipt calls you if they don't have something they call or text.

Whatever happened to Stop and Shop? Another reminder today why I and my wife avoid this store at all costs. Just needed one thing that was on sale so I took a chance of getting out of there with no problems. Self check out took my money and did not record it. Pressed help needed and waited for help. Saw three employees at CS desk yapping away but no response. Started pacing a bit so they would see me. No response. Finally one of them saw me and mosied over. Almost sounded like she did not believe me. Always get a response like I was the one that did something wrong. (Especially when a coupon does not download). Wonder why everyone shops across the street and not this store anymore (always empty when I've been there) Here is another good reason...cs people seem willing and eager to fight you every step of the way.

literally worst grocery store for peapod.I am writing this as I am currently sitting in my car still waiting for them to bring out the groceries. It has been 30 minutes already. They do not send you an email or call you with anything out of stock so they don't even tell you until you show up to pick up your groceries. Giving you no other options unless you want to continue to wait even more. Even though I told them don't worry about swapping it out for things I won't even use a lives, but I have been sitting here waiting for a half an hour without even having substitutions. I could have done my own grocery store shopping. Just trying to limit contacts during this time they are literally the only store who never has anything in stock and keeps you waiting. being on a lunch break i'mDISGUSTED!!!!!!! I will be posting these reviews everywhere! don't dare give them business

This is a great Stop & Shop, one of my favorite locations in this area. The store is very clean, well lit, and well maintained. It's well stocked and carries a huge selection of products. The floral department is excellent! They've got a huge variety of flowers and plants that all look very pretty and beautiful. They also have some very nice seasonal decorations. The bakery is also excellent! They've got a huge variety of baked goods, and they have some items that I haven't seen at other locations. All the baked goods look fresh and delicious. The cakes and cupcakes are all decorated very nicely. We've bought cupcakes and french here and they were fresh and delicious! The bakery department is always well decorated, especially around various holidays and it looks nice and festive. The deli is good and clean with friendly staff. The prepared chicken was all hot and fresh. The sandwiches also looked fresh and tasty and were well stocked with a large selection. The salad bar at this location always looks wonderful! It's well stocked with a huge variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. This location has a hot wing bar and the wings there all looked fresh and delicious. The produce is good here. The berries, cabbages, lettuce, and various fruits and vegetables looked fresh and were well stocked. The seafood looked fresh and was well stocked with a wide selection. The meats looked fresh. There is a Stop & Shop gas station located next to the store. The staff at this location are all friendly, attentive, and helpful. On one visit, I had an issue at self checkout, and two employees were very kind and extremely helpful in solving the problem. They went out of their way to assist me and they helped me out a lot. The ladies in the bakery department are friendly. I saw the store manager walking around a few times making sure everything was running smoothly, which is good to see. He actually said hello and was very friendly and helpful! Unfortunately, I have found multiple expired items on the shelves. Make sure you check the dates to make sure what you're buying is good. Sometimes the meat section isn't fully stocked at times, but the it is well stocked and fresh in the morning. Overall, this is a great Stop & Shop, one of the better ones in this area. The staff are amazing, the store is clean, and the foods are fresh with a wide variety. This store is well run and serves the area well. 4 to 4.5 stars for the Shelton Stop & Shop.

Poor customer experience.Two cashiers max at the busiest times. No baggers. Charging 10 cents for PAPER bags even though cost is part of overhead. Deli: upwards of $11 per pound - service is SLOW. Workers openly curse and gripe about union issues. I questioned why my ham was shredded as opposed to cold cut slices: that's how we do it -the slicer "sucks" (his words, not mine).

Teach your employees not to use the F word around customers. Today is the last day I ever step foot in one of your stores to spend my money. Tried to get cheese at the deli counter this morning before work. There were two ladies behind the counter, 5 minutes before they opened the counter and they refused to help me. Saying we don’t open until 7am. I even supported them during the strike bringing donuts and coffee to them on the picket line. Never again.

Bad customer service. If you need something & don't know where it is there's no one to help you. The cashiers are usually not friendly. There are never enough lanes open and hardly ever a "bagger". I noticed this business is "unclaimed" which just goes to show you management isn't even reading what their customers think! There are much better grocery stores nearby so we don't have to deal with a poor shopping experience.
