We brought our 13-week old chocolate lab puppy to One Smart Dog training classes and absolutely loved it! Dawn is an amazing trainer who is very patient with the puppies and new dog owners. She goes into thorough detail when teaching a new skill or giving everyday tips to take home. I would definitely recommend One Smart Dog for training classes!

Best puppy pre k to go to if you live in Shelton and you have a puppy. Or if youlive close to it. I will sign up again if I get another puppy. It’s fun for the dog and for the owner. It teaches you a lot that you don’t know.

Dawn came recommended from my vet. She is very knowledgeable and provided a great class for both puppy and human! I plan to take another class in the future and would highly recommend her services!

When I got my puppy I immediately signed him up for the puppy classes, then he graduated through manners 1 and 2. He took the tricks and agility classes as well. Having him learn so much and practicing with him has made him the most amazing dog, and he is so well socialized and friendly. I attribute our success to Dawn and her techniques. As a rescue, my dog at first had (and still has) some anxiety problems with new situations, but Dawn taught me how to overcome them.

I took my 5 month pitmix to Basic Manners and am so grateful. This is my first dog and I’ve learned not only commands but how to execute them correctly. Everly has been such a joy and learning how to cultivate correct behavior has made it so much easier. Dawn is a wealth of information. Everly and I will be attending more classes!

Very clean for a dog training facility. I really loved the group classes they were big enough for my puppy to get socialized but not over crowded. Lots of fun for me and my dog. She always looked forward to going to her classes.

I really love the style of training my dog Roxy and I are receiving at One Smart Dog. I already see so many positive changes in her behavior. Our Basic Manners class is with Kim, she spends time at the end of every class going over any questions that anyone might have and gives great tips and advice for some of the problems we all have at home. She also gives great advice during class if she sees that a certain method is not quite working for a specific dog. I'm excited to work our way through all the classes offered.

We enrolled in Basic Manners I with our rescue puppy after finding One Smart Dog online and having them recommended by our vet. We ended up signing up for Basic Manners II (Dawn approved) as an immediate follow up because we learned that our pup thrived with daily training and the classes really helped him to come out of his shell and improve his confidence.Dawn taught both classes and her knowledge and dedication to the dogs was outstanding. She keeps the once a week classes fast paced, candid, and straightforward - if you do not do the homework, it will show. I recommend OSD to everyone in the area, whether their pup is a new addition or not.

This is Penny a Pit bull who is extremely fearful of strangers. 6 weeks ago on our first visit she growled , lunged, and barked at me and had to be removed from the room after just a few minutes. With cooperation from her veterinarian and diligent work by her owner and trainer, Penny has improved significantly over the past 6 months. Here she is without her muzzle on practicing the "say hi" command. We don't discriminate against any breed at One Smart Dog.

I started bringing my puppy to Dawns group training classes when he was around 7 months old. He knew many basic commands but it felt like he just wasn't listening to us anymore. He was HIGHLY distracted, very needy, and we could barely make it through a class without him barking the entire time. By the end of that class (Basic manners) we were beginning to see improvements in his listening and he slowly got better with his barking. Many times I thought his barking would get us removed from class but thankfully, Dawn has been very patient! We are now just about done with Basic Manners 2 and we are seeing a big improvement in his ability to listen, his ability to hold a command with distractions, and his reactivity on walks. Dawn has been a big help over the past 11 weeks and provided tips and guidance on every question we've thrown at her. I highly recommend the group training classes at One Smart Dog, I wish we had found them sooner!

I have taken both Basic Manners 1 and 2 with our pup Toby. Both Dawn and Kim were very knowledgeable and have helped us tremendously with many of the issues that come with training a puppy. I couldn't be happier with the classes I have taken.

I went into these classes assuming I would be gaining more knowledge with dog training. Never did I think I’d be so mistreated. I was always there to listen and try things her way. She asked our entire class which breed of dog we thought was the most hardest to teach, and then pointed directly to me and said Pitbull. In my opinion, no dog breed should be difficult to work with to a dog trainer. Bringing negative awareness to a certain breed is no way to teach a class. She had our dogs perform a walk around cones in the center of the room, and my dog got distracted with sniffing everything (this was a basic class, NOT advanced). I tried to do it her way even though my dog is trained differently when walking on the leash. She sent me back to my chair and lectured me on everything I was doing wrong for a good five minutes, wasting everyone else’s time. But when the next dog did the same exact thing as mine, not one word was said to them. I wasn’t even comfortable going to my graduation class considering she clearly has something against Pitbulls. I went into these classes with an open mind, and left with humiliation. I wasn’t able to adopt my dog unless I signed up for classes, but I’m glad I did not have to complete them because this woman is way too harsh for me. My personal opinion.
