It’s a convenient place to grab something you need. Time to time they have old products. For example they recently had soda “on sale” I checked the date and it was expired! Their bottle return machine is almost always full. When you let them know, it’s almost like an inconvenience for them to change the bag. You get an attitude from the woman at the service desk every time. Very poor customer service. She needs to get her attitude adjusted.

My favorite grocery store! Erin is the kindest and most responsible employee there.

Second time is a charm and so that's why I decided to write this review. Before I go on about a couple of negative experiences with the front service desk woman, I will say that Adams is a pretty good market and convenient that gives you a homey feel and not that big wide chaotic supermarket feel. The customer service woman has no customer service skills whatsoever. She is rude and cold and looks at you like you are a piece of dirt when you make a mistake at the self checkout isle when she tried to help me today she was condescending and said "I told you blah blah blah". I will not stand for that behavior. I will not put up with anyone being rude to me for no reason, because common courtesy and warmth to me is something that I practice every day. And when you are in the service industry you should know to practice that every day. Shame on the people that have this woman still working there and not taking her to the side and explaining how to practice good customer service. Part of my going into a business is the whole experience. And this experience is not a good one.

I buy water from there, and get charged a deposit, when I tried to return them, the manager, a lady, said the machines were not programmed for them. So I asked why if I pay the deposit, I can't return it. No answer. As I was walking out of the store, the manager and the woman behind the register that acts nice, said, and I quote," he can jump off a cliff". No longer will I buy my groceries there and I will notify everyone of this more than poor attitude toward its customer

I have been supporting Shelton IGA for 30 years and spend $100/wk not because thet are best but I want to support local. today I bought EggPlant and asked the deli counter if they could slice for me to make egg plant Parm. The young counter person asked the person in charge and her reply was we can't do it. I asked why she said because she was not told to! I asked were you told not to, wondering for a good reason her short response was, Have a nice day sir and turned her back and walked away, I asked as she walked to back room is that customer service?? If it was her reason to not do something because it was not usual is a disgrace and the real blame goes to the training they provide. I will NEVER return. In 30 years I have spent well over $130,000

Very unique place as there are only a couple of them around. The prices are a little bit higher but you can look for things on sale.

First and last time. I like the atmosphere in the store but no ground turkey? I asked for it and was told they don't carry. Also the veggies aren't fresh. Soggy cucumbers and onions that have sprouted. The canned goods are outrageously expensive. I suppose it's more like a convenience store if you live in white hills and need a few things. Not sure how they've stayed in business

This used to be one of the best stores around those small it had everything you needed everybody was kind and nice I didn't didn't have to go to one of the large impersonal Stop & Shop or ShopRite. It was perfect until they remodeled. I don't know if they're trying to save money because of the remodel or watt but I have bought asparagus that was rotten in the middle I have bought multiple times blueberries raspberries strawberries that where moldy the very next morning. Just bought strawberries two days ago they were moldy yesterday bought another pack yesterday because I'm juicing and they were moldy and completely rotted this morning and I keep all my fruits and vegetables in the refrigerator. I am really unhappy with Adams. I don't know if they're under new management since the remodel or what but I think they're buying used produce. My mothers been shopping there since sick again since they opened she's always bought her Breyers natural ice cream and they no longer carry Breyers brand. I am just completely disappointed in that store now

For a small grocery store, they are very well stocked with a great variety and competitive prices.
