It would be easier to get through to the White House than the Ridgefield local post office.

Avoid at all cost. Use UPS or FedEx.

Lazy employees are uninterested in assisting customers even though they are on the clock. Website states walk in hours for passport services. Employees simply refuse to help even though the place is empty and they aren't busy. One employee said he couldn't help because he was leaving soon, which wasn't true since he was still there 1 hour later. Another employee said, "This is going to friggin take forever." It's disappointing to see such a lack of work ethic. I have all of the required documents organized and am spending hundreds of dollars. It's shameful service by people who couldn't be bothered while at work.

I would give this postal office no stars if I could. I only comment on places that are horrible. When I need to bring a package to be mailed I always encounter the racist old white men that work there who are grumpy, rude, and condescending. They probably just working there so they can collect a pension. USPS needs to screen and find better employees that enjoy their job and can treat all people with respect in the community of diverse people who may walk in there to bring packages to be mailed.

What a sad mess this place has become. No wonder USPS is struggling. Thank goodness for UPS.

I sent a package to my tax preparer in Ridgefield, signature required. Boy was that a mistake. The first day they "attempted delivery," they were legit not home (that was a Friday). They returned home Sunday night. We thought they would reattempt delivery or at least return our package. But...nothing. We had to file a complaint and then finally were told that the mail carrier was out sick and "no one knew where she put it." They claimed that they attempted delivery two other times. I don't know when the second alleged attempt was but on the day of the third one, they were home ALL day and no one rang the bell. My tax preparer told me that this happens ALL the time to them and they always claim they tried to deliver it, but in reality did NOT make an attempt. I have another package to send and I will send via FedEx. I guess they really live up to the credo, "Close enough for government work."

Most employees are great; the postmaster or manager is one of the most unnecessarily confrontational people I have encountered in daily life.

Having read some of these nasty reviews including two people from other towns, I just wanted to say that I have only had good experiences at the PO and everyone working there has always been professional and friendly.

I think that for the first time in history, the customer service at the DMV is better than at this post office. I stood in line for 20 minutes with only one customer in front of me. Terribly slow service!!!
