Christopher Tallet has been doing our taxes for well over 17 years. He has always been extremely responsive and helpful with all our tax questions and has always gone above and beyond to make sure that our data was accurate and complete. I would not trust anyone else with filing our taxes- I know our sensitive data is safe.

ReviewRecently I had an horrible experience with Christopher Tallet, CPA in Ridgefield, CT. We were clients of his for several years when we lived there. 2018 was the last year we used him as his fee was very expensive. We recently received a high IRS bill from 2018 plus interest. We called him immediately and he did not return our calls. Left him 2 messages. Then emailed him with copies of the letter attached asking if this was correct and if we really owed this. He responded finally and admitted that he made a data input error and that the IRS was correct in the amount owed. Clearly this is an upsetting response and the timing of this bill could not be worse right before Christmas. My wife, is currently out of work and times are tough for all. Chris had zero compassion regarding this. We asked that at the very least he should refund us the interest accrued since we were blindsided by this bill due to his careless mistake. We paid him over the years thousands of dollars for his expensive professional fees ($400 each year) for our returns to be done correctly. He had no response to our request which we feel is the only decent and right thing to do at the very least. He offered nothing and no response. He is unprofessional, careless, and insensitive. His error has cost us hundreds of additional dollars in interest in excess of the $2600 input error (his words) .I would never recommend him to anyone He is a poor businessman with zero customer service skills, professionalism, and accountability for his actions that have caused my wife and I much distress.I wish I could give him Zero stars but I cant.People make mistakes Chris. You admitted the error was your fault but won’t compensate a Former valued client the interest charge due to your error of a few hundred dollars when you have made thousands from us over the years.

If I could give zero stars I would. I usually do not write negative reviews but I feel compelled to do so in this instance. Christopher Tallet is highly unprofessional, lacks customer service skills, and doesn’t care for his clients. His error which he admitted on my return Is costing me a lot of money plus interest. He offered no help or refund of interest accrued or his professional fee. And all this happening a week before Christmas when I am out of work and causing me much stress.

Great knowledge, Chris is down to earth and easy to understand, great office location in the FUN part of Ridgefield CT - Taxes upstairs .. then Food & Drinks right downstairs + reasonable tax & accounting billing rates.

Mistakes happen. We understand Asking for the interest that was accrued due to his mistake was very reasonable. We have to pay the taxes. I get it. But the error that he made created interest charges dating back to 2018. Under $200 was the accrued interest. What we asked for was Very reasonable coming from a client that you made thousands of dollars off over the years. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for a reliable cpa.
