35 Elm St, New Canaan“This is an independent bookstore with a friendly staff. I am a fantasy reader and that selection was not that big, but they have a lot of fiction and a beautiful children’s section!”
“Great selection of books! Neatly organized by category. I usually buy books through Amazon but I got a gift card and on top of that I got a 25% discount off my first book purchase. Happy to see they moved to the Danbury Mall and they went all-in with double floors!”
“A great Christian gift and book store right in the he center of Bethel. The owners were so nice and helpful. Highly recommend this place if you need a special gift or book for a new birth, communion, conformation, graduation, baptismal , wedding etc..”
“I want to give 5 stars but a employee (Brett) was just so inappropriate I must be true to myself:I was excited entering the store because it felt so welcoming and it was my first time brining my daughter to a book place. We browsed for fun activity games and books safe for kid. There is a cafe and well worn benches to sit and read I’m guessing. The customers were diverse the day I visited all good people tall short jewish Asian all type. Although I had a strange and disappointing encounter with someone said to be the manager (Brett), I will revisit. Maybe he will have received some training or move on to another job cause he ain’t it. He was hovering around me and invading my personal space saying he was doing his job. I eventually moved to a less private area because I felt uncomfortable. Lucky my daughter was busy playing in the kids past.Another customer approached me and told me she saw and heard everything. She said she wanted to make sure I was okay. I truly appreciated it she was so warm to me and nice to meet. She then reported him to a kind woman with long hair working nearby. I also spoke with her. Another employee (Joel) was super kind and helpful too. It’s not what I expect from Barnes and Noble but since the pandemic, there’s a mixed bag of nuts out there. Good parking and a nice little local spot. Worth a visit.”
“A bookstore straight out of a movie scene! The outside is picturesque and for a small town bookstore, the selection was immense. I was particularly pleased with the amount of poetry and there seemed to be a nice balance between classic literature and more modern offerings. I’m looking forward to stopping in again and hopefully making a purchase the next time I visit!”
