Not quite sure how to review this business.I boycotted this business for 3 years due to their outrageous policies, as if they were some kind of medical office or airport facility. They only allowed one person in at a time and would LOCK the door behind you, watch to make sure you sanitize? This was definitely not a place I wanted to give any business to as that made no sense to me. Obviously don’t want the post to be about that because the food is amazing!I would completely understand if it was a cancer ward or NICU facility at a hospital however they sell bread and cheese. However it is very very VERY good bread and cheese.I am someone who values good quality food and value for what I pay for. This is very good quality food. Excellent customer service.I was lured into this shop by a friend who has similar taste in high quality food, he consistently encouraged me to look past their door locking and just try their sandwiches and meats. I must say that there sandwiches are awesome, I order minimum of 3 times per week now.Quality of all their food is superb. Staff is very friendly and hospitable. I would definitely give this 5 stars but I’m decreasing the rating due to the horrid way they handled the business for 2 and a half years or so…I cannot understand this as a food establishment or business selling cheese or bread.I can only understand it as a cancer ward or NICU. So that being said look past the door locking and just try the food. It is so good!

Monica and team prepared an amazing catered lunch for our teachers - really fresh bread on the sandwiches, delicious fresh salads, cookies, and unique chips and drinks to go along with it all. Just another reason to shop this local gem.

Gift Basket-- Cannot recommend highly enough! Ordered and delivered to friend who was recovering from surgery same day. They curated a thoughtful and delicious gift basket .. My friend was so happy and sent me several pictures. Would definitely order from them again!

To visit 109 Cheese and Wine is well worth the drive. The store has so many wonderful cheeses to choose from. Many other items are well worth trying. We found they have frozen French bread. This is excellent. So many times I would get bread for an evening and it was just not fresh enough. Here you buy the frozen loaves bring them home put in your freezer and heat up when you need them. LOVE IT!

Ridgefield is a great town and this is an awesome cheese shop and speciality store. I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and picked up some truffle cheese and frozen Mac and cheese from the freezer section. The Mac and cheese was incredible when I got home and baked it, and the truffle cheese recommendation from the employees was great. They sell cheese, crackers, wine, and other specialty products. Everyone was nice and helpful, and I'm looking forward to going back to this store!

There is no adjectives that could really do this place justice. Every time we need a charcuterie board for a party, they out do themselves each and every time. I could not recommend this place enough. The staff is so nice and knowledgeable. You describe what you are looking for and they put it together in the most amazing way.

Just got a burrata toast and a ham melt. Both incredibly delicious! It was my first time in 109 Cheese & Wine and I could not be more pleasant.

Fantastic service and food- I ordered several soups, quiches, and pastas for a family member who couldn't cook due to some medical issues. Monica went out of her way to get in touch with the recipient directly to make sure the food was dropped off at their convenience. I got a lovely note from the relative raving about the soups- cannot recommend the food and the people working here enough!

The best cheese shop in town with a very knowledgeable owner. She had some hard to find varieties and greatly appreciated her assistance in finding a very similar substitute for one of the ones she didn't carry. Reasonable prices and great attention to detail in wrapping and labeling my purchase. Through the next door is the wine shop, and as in the cheese side of 109, the owner was very knowledgeable with hard to find varietals and vineyards.
