I took my daughter here for a sick visit because she is 2 months and has a terrible cough and is super congested. We usually see Laura Mandell (who we love!!) but today we saw Doctor Joseph’s and I was beyond disappointed. She was quite rude the entire time and even made an odd comment about how she’s happy that my baby didn’t cry… why work in pediatrics if you don’t want to hear babies crying?

I just read the review before me by Mike G. He could not be anymore right. I hate dealing with this office staff. The receptionists are the worst. Ashley is the worst by far. They are so rude. The way they talk to you is completely unprofessional. My son was having a major asthma problem and he needed his inhaler. The receptionist told me the doctor will not do anything I less she see him and that there was no appointments. I asked to speak to the doctor and they flat out said no. I had to speak to the occur manger to have the doctor call me. Then of course the doctor was helpful and refilled his medication with out a visit. The office staff here is dangerous. Keep your kids away from this place!!!

The office staff here is the absolute worse!! They are extremely rude. They talk down to you. If you ask to speak to the doctor they will not relay your message and they tell you that you can’t speak to your child’s doctor. It’s is constantly this way time after time. The doctors are better. But the office staff will make it as difficult as possible to do anything here. While being as rude as possible to you. This is not only my experience but every person I know that goes here.

May daughter tried to make appointment for her ill son & had similar problems as everyone. They tell you call at 8 am to get in but then say they can’t get you in & to go to walk in or ED. This is a horrible way to manage patients & especially children when your child’s PCP should know your child the best & be the one overseeing his care. They have really deteriorated at DKH over the years…… it’s a shame. Probably why it’s difficult to get & retain staff!!

I want to leave this review in hopes that maybe upper management will see this and get the front desk staff more training. I just want to say Dr. Cerrone deserves well over 5 stars!!! This review is not for him. He is amazing, professional, thorough, caring. His nurse is kind, and compassionate. I am posting this review for the unprofessional front desk staff, and general rudeness of other staff/nursing, etc. I have been told many times over the past few months “a nurse will call you back by front desk, or we will run this by your pediatrician by nurses, and on one ever call back.”Called Friday morning 4/21 because my daughter was having respiratory issues, retracted breathing, low 02 readings. The front desk staff who is always generally rude to me said “ we have no sick visits.” That was it! We ended up in urgent care my daughter was given a nebulizer treatment (one to take home), and diagnosed with reactive airway disease. This was an emergency, and we should have been seen, or had a nurse call us back…not told we have no visits. It’s not okay, these front desk staff are not medically trained, and it ended up with my daughter being in a respiratory emergency. Please get these staff some training. Dr. Cerrone, and his nurse is amazing, but half the other times I call for months due to recurrent ear infections (now she has to get tubes next month cause I can’t ever get into the office to get treated). She has had 6 double ear infections in 3.5 months, and it was a hassle to even get them to call me back to do an ear check to see if the last infection cleared. My daughter has been sick, I am told a nurse will call me back no one does!!! I am down at urgent care all the time this urgent care doctor knows me better than my pediatrician due to the front desk staff. Does this seem okay? Please get better training for the staff. I completely understand staffing issues, I work in the medical field myself, but why was daughter who is 11 months old turned away for respiratory issues without being even told a nurse could talk to me. This is not okay. You need to do better!!We love Dr. Cerrone, but if the office doesn’t start treating us better we are going to have to change doctors this little girl shouldn’t have been turned away the way she was, and I am upset. You should have a way to prioritize sick visits, and urgency of them, something that definitely needs to be seen ASAP, vrs not. You should have calls being triaged to nurses if parents are reporting certain medical issues. Thank you.

Tried to make a regular doctor appointment for a week away. I was told you have to call at 8 am and make an emergency visit. So they obviously are making some serious coin off these EMERGENCY visits. You can't make a regular appointment. The receptionist are absolutely rude and very unprofessional. If I could rate 0 I absolutely would. The only doctor worth seeing is Doctor Moes and he's retiring. Look somewhere else your children deserve way better care. They take advantage of low income families that have state insurance.

All the doctors left, Kristie at the front desk is the rudest I have ever run into. Will argue with you that you are given paperwork after your appointment when you weren't and then no apologies when she finds out she is wrong. Twice I have called due to issues with my newborn twins and can't even get a call back.

This is the most pathetic doctors office I've ever seen. The Drs are great but almost everything else here is ridiculous, having a medical facility run this way is a bloody disgrace. And ruins the rapport between the facility and the public... when 70% or more have issues with the way the place is running you should probably look into it, and it has only gotten worse over the last handful of years. Why do you think they call it day'killem hospital.

The receptionists are incredibly unprofessional, rude, and unorganized. Ashley is easily one of the most inconsiderate and disrespectful women I have ever encountered in a medical facility. Unfortunately, working with families and sick children isn't suitable for everyone and Ashley made that disgustingly obvious. Be cautious where you bring your children!! Not everyone cares about the well being of your children.

An appointment was scheduled for my daughter. The day before, in the evening, they called me and cancelled it. From other reviews here it seems like a normal thing for them. Doctors are great but the way both offices (Plainfield and Putnam) work is absolutely ridiculous. Time to find another pediatrician/practice.

I feel compelled to write a review after seeing the negative ones below. I think when it comes to our children, emotions run so high (as it should be) that we sometimes lose sight of the practical side of a Doctor's Office. Just as with any practice, they have protocol in place that are set above their choosing (state regulations) and do need to adjust their schedules in accordance with severity of a patient's case. I've definitely had moments in the waiting room of frustration, but then I try to remember that decisions are made outside of my understanding. My son is a frequent patient due to chronic ear infections as well as just being a kid who goes to daycare. And I am a first-time mother who definitely is not an easy mother to work with because of my anxiety. That said, my son's doctor and the team of doctors who will see him if she is not available are always kind, always open to listening to my ridiculous list of concerns on any given day, and genuinely tried to develop a relationship with my son provided that they have the time. I just feel absolutely compelled to alleviate some of the burden of these negative reviews because I believe some of them are seen through the lens of somebody who was experiencing frustration in the moment and perhaps forgot to look past their own frustrations and into the way that the American medical system works. And sure, I would love to see sizable reform happen in the medical world for the well-being of all of us, but I have to remember that every doctor and every nurse that we see is working within the parameters of what has been allowed to them. What I try to look at above that is the obvious amount of love and attention that they provide my son when he's in the same space as them.

We see Dr. Moes for our two young children (1 and 3). He is wonderful. He listens and answers all of our questions. He has always been respectful to us as parents, and he gives us space to make our own decisions. He simply presents the latest data and recommendations. I have always found the office / scheduling to be easy and reasonable. As such, my observations are not the same as other parents who have written reviews.

Your service is increasingly going downhill. We have been patrons for 20years. 4 kids and family! Just the simplicity of getting a script refilled is a hassle. We were just seen July 19th. Pharmacy advised we call directly as there were issues going through. We called a half a dozen times, Only to get booted off twice before 4:30 pm. Then, taken over by answering service who rudely hung up on me!!! I'm appalled at your lack of caring and service to your loyal clients. Insurance in Ct makes it challenging to find providers. I'm sorry you are overwhelmed and maybe short staffed but this is not the way to handle it! How rude and uncaring!!! You took an oath to do no harm yet do this to a concerned parent. Totally unacceptable and disgusting! I'm connected with NY Times journalists and may be inclined to raise this as an article for attention!! NOT the firstime mind you that we've been mishandled! Also, have a daughter, very influential that is going into journalism. This is very bad PR for you!!!! Get your stuff figured out!!!
