Let me preface this by saying ...THANK YOU EVERYONE who took the time to report the workmanship of this branch...specifically one or possibly several workers. Also I would also like to note that my wife and I have both had horrible experiences here on several occasions with one specific employee. On one occasion she said my first class package was over a pound by just simply holding it, and, upon bringing it back home and weighing it again...it was indeed under a pound. On another occasion she said that my media mail package couldn't be accepted because it didn't "feel" like books in there.(It was a brown box containing children's cassettes/learning booklets combo). I knew, I just had a feeling, before even handing this absolute stooge of an employee that package that she would be giving me issues. Needless to say I passed on dealing with more grief from this troll and moved along to the next usps dropoff. We run a business where we ship packages several times a week. Our labels are printed at home, with our business name on the return address, tracking numbers are linked to our items, and all packages have been individually measured, weighed, and shipping service selected before labels have been printed. She has been the cause of delays in shipping to our customers on multiple occasions, and many other unsettling experiences. TO THE MANAGEMENT! maybe fire the nuisance and utilize a hiring technique that disqualifies candidates who designate the grinch as their spirit animal.P.S I think this lady spent some time in hell but she got kicked out because even they didn't want that hooligan there.

The tattooed lady is extremely rude. She is only nice to her favorite customers.

These guys have been absolutely incredible in the process of locating my packages. The pastfew years I have moved around the state and dealt with many post offices across Connecticut, and Portland by far cares the most about the individuals in this town. Not sure if they got a new post master or what exactly happened because when I first moved here I was having some minor delivery issues, but they seriously go above and beyond to help people out and they deserve some real recognition for it.Be a decent human when you talk to them- they’re stretched very thin, and still are managing to do their best despite the circumstances. They risk their lives daily to get us our Amazon packages and Time magazine subscriptions. Thank you guys.

Not only do the carriers fail to put anything in the right mailbox or properly deliver packages but none of the clerks in the office know what they're doing and often cause problems with regular customers. Just go to the Silver Street post office in Middletown five minutes away.

The phone number listed for Portland, CT USPS does not allow customers to speak with a local USPS agent! Instead it is a quagmire of automated menu options. I simply wanted to know if the local office has federal tax forms available.
