“My sister and I came in here for a new battery for my car keys today. I asked the gentleman at the register if there was any way he could help me take the key apart. He took his time to take my key apart, get the new battery and replaced it all for me. He was so kind and friendly and went way above and beyond!!! I did not get his name but hopefully he sees this and realizes that he made my day. Such great customer service!”
“My wife and I recently moved to Higganum, CT and just now discovered Higganum Hardware. The owners, two brothers, Taylor and Jarrett, opened the store in fall 2021. While young, they are dedicated to customer service and a huge variety of everything from nuts and bolts to Ben Moore Paints, to equipment...a huge variety of quality hardware goods. I asked them, what encouraged them to open the store...the answer, We looked at what Higganum needed and did not have...a Hardware Store. While we believe in the saying SHOP LOCAL, you also want high quality products, good service and location close to where you live and or work. Higganum Hardware fits all three. “I could not have had a better experience! I live in Manhattan and had tried three places here to be ghosted by two of them. I walked into Galleria with no expectation and was greeted warmly by Jenuarie and she was fabulous. She was patient in helping me decide what I wanted to do. I thought I could mix tile companies for an accent tile while never considering the exact dimensions of the tiles may not blend. She pointed this out and from that point I changed direction of what I was doing. After picking out tiles we went to the warehouse for the countertop and the first one I saw was the one I wanted. I also learned I need a fabricator which had not been mentioned to me previously. While waiting for sample tiles I saw some beautiful handmade tiles which I now think will be the accent tiles. I ordered one as the company is in California. The rest of the staff was exceptionally kind, helpful and interested in what my plans were when We discussed the hand made tiles. The experience could not have been better. I saw the negative reviews and I can honestly say I can't imagine any of the staff being cold, indifferent or unhelpful. I highly, highly recommend Galleria in Middletown. I just wish we had a place like this in the city!”

“The old 'Higganum Feed' was a dump and the people working the same sort you'd encounter at an inner city auto shop. The place is under new management which clearly takes pride in the appearance of the place and the gentleman behind the counter is friendly and helpful. Give it a try and you'll see for yourself. And no, no interest in the place, couldn't tell you the owners name.”
“I had a small plumbing repair job to do, and didn't want to use an after market part. None of the home improvement stores carried it, and I didn't want to wait for mail order. So I tried Winsupply. I pulled up to the door, walked in and an employee asked can I help you( nice not to have spend five minutes looking for someone ) I showed him to part, he walked over, and got me the part rang it up,and I was back in my car in less than five minutes. The staff there are helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly and the price was very reasonable.”

“They sell lots of tools at very affordable prices. They are not top shelf quality, but they are certainly not garbage, and for the cost, they are a good deal.They also stand behind their products with a warranty that is no hassle...I have been trying to restock my nitrile glove supply for months, but for some reason, they can't keep up with demand. I guess people must be hoarding. Also, the shelf space is much smaller than it once was, so this is seemingly a contributing factor. I have been buying these gloves here for years now, but ever since the Covid-19 pandemic break out, I can't get them. Auto workers are considered essential, so it would be nice to get my hands on a box. I use them because of grease. For Covid-19, I have been using soap and water or hand sanitizer.C'mon man, get more gloves and stock them fuller (more shelf space), like it used to be.Update (11/13/2020); After several months of frustration, I was finally able to buy a box of gloves... they only had the one box for triple the usual cost I was paying...Update (3/19/23);Looks like they finally got caught up with things. Stock has been replenished.The prices of the gloves are back down to Earth.”

“We wanted to recognize Paul K ( Irishman) who actually stopped and asked if he can help us instead of just walking by and having us track down an employee ( like at Lowe’s). He not only showed us where the products were but gave his advice and recommendations as well. He went out of his way to walk us around the store looking for other things that we mentioned and even offered my daughter a bottle water when she said she was thirsty. It was one of the best service we’ve had , way better than Lowe’s ! You have a great employee in Mr Paul K. I will be coming back to Home Depot over Lowe’s because of your friendliness and helpfulness.”

“Truly a gem for machinists in Connecticut. The team here has a great depth of knowledge and an incredible in stock selection, easy to place orders and pick up same day or just go in to grab what you need.Prices are very reasonable, I've often found them to be cheaper than what you can get online.They have tons of specialty tools and advice to get that extra edge for your work that your clients will notice.They really do have whatever you need. Machine coolant, tool holders, specialty aluminum endmills, ball endmills, micro endmills, lathe carbide inserts, shell mill inserts, shell mills themselves, screw machine bits, cutting oils, work stops, vises, etc. and if they don't have it in stock they can get it for you.”

“Riding mower broke. Went on vacation and while gone they picked it up, fixed it and redelivered it for about the mid point of the estimate. Mower runs great, now. Just called for a replacement part no one else has, they have it. Those who think they're pricey, it costs a lot to run a business, good help has to be paid and isn't satisfied eating Mac and Cheese dinner 7 days a week.”

“I've always found this Home Depot to be clean, well stocked, and usually I'm easily able to find the item, or employees can help me. Easy to get project advice, and we've been going here for years. The bathroom is pretty much always clean (way better than most places) customer service has been quite easy. Not super happy about the returns without receipt policy, but I understand why, as so many people shoplift. Just remember to send receipt to email, or use card every time so returns can be found by card#.”
“Typical Home Depot. Staff is helpful, mostly, until you can't find something. Then it seems like staff is just as hard to find as what you're looking for. I eventually found some of the things I was looking for, compromised on a project because I didn't want to spend, chose the cheap way out. Didn't see everything I wanted, but got what I needed, so I guess it all worked out.”
“I like the convenience of having an olde tyme hardware and general store nearby. I wish they had an “old guy”…the fella that knows everything about everything and everyone in town.
My most recent visit had me returning something without a receipt and it went quickly and smoothly.
Whether you need paint, hardware, canning supplies or windshield wipers, hot sauce and a 10mm socket, Ace is the place!
