So not sure how this place works we saw it in TV and figured we would go as a family we went on a rainy Saturday with the understanding that the admission was a DONATION which would mean you putting money in a box or buying merch or something nope it's a 15 dollar charge for over 12 that my friends is not a donation it's a cover charge it's a 15 minute walk thru and that's stretching it but for 15 dollars you only get up to 30 minutes to walk over that there pushing you out plus they sell merch so they shove that in your face too plus the 2.5 hours outside in the rain waiting for adults it's ok for teens not enjoyable it's way before there time if your thinking of going as a family trip save your dough!!!

Had fun but website should be updated to reflect pricing and that you only accept cash.Especially for people who are not from CT ( like me) and not familiar with the area.

This is a cool little place for lovers of old Hollywood horror movies. The tour guide and owner of the museum had great stories to share and was undoubtedly passionate about his love of the movies not to mention his collection of rare movie props. $15 per adult entrance fee children $5 (Cash Only) The museum is only 4 small rooms , 6 people are allowed in at a time, takes about 30 minutes for the tour, would of given this 5 stars but the 2 hr wait was the only draw back.

The Witches Dungeon is a must see. Treat yourself, your family, and friends to an outstanding venue of original Hollywood props representing iconic movies that will thrill young and old alike. Cortlandt Hull gives an outstanding presentation of a variety of movie props. An incredible learning experience. All located in Plainville, Ct. An experience of a lifetime. Again, a must see!

This museum is a real neat collection of faithful movie imitations and a few original prop pieces, but ultimately left us feeling underwhelmed. The museum never quite capitalizes on what makes it unique as the owner tours you through only to recap a summary of each film.So much opportunity to discuss prop design, cinema monsters' impact on culture, history of the monsters themselves, or creation of the wax figures is never discussed. The museum ultimately feels like an attempt by the owner to show off their collection and brag about their cinema connections.Finding the museum itself is an ordeal. Parking is off an unlit industrial street, because the museum doesn't open till dark. No signs help you find it either, and even Google maps doesn't know how to get to it.

The museum is a treasure for anyone who enjoys horror and film! Displays are in fantastic condition and the life sized wax pieces are impeccable with the most fantastic attention to detail. The owners and partners of this establishment are very passionate about the preservation of these timless and priceless mementos. All of the life sized replications have been intricately designed and no small detail is ignored! The lighting, sounds, and general ambiance is set in each room to make for flawless presentation. I must clarify that I've not been in person as I'm autistic, live in the UK and I don't travel but was shown a video tour thanks to Tell 'Em Steve-Dave's Broside Attractions.WOW. Original, screen used props including the spinning head from The Excorisist, the idol from Indiana Jones, original classic monsters. If you have even the slightest interest, you must go. It's absolutely astonishing and the owner can tell you literally anything you want to know. Incredible.

This is just like the tours of old. Filled with fun stories and wax figures. The host was wonderful and very knowledgeable about everything Vincent Price and movies about the Universal Monsters. He has an amazing collection of actual movie used props and masks. The tour takes about 45 minutes and it is guided by a super knowledgeable guide. This was right up my alley. I loved hearing about the not so known stories behind the movies I grew up loving. When I was 5 I found out that me and Vincent Price shared a birthday and it was something that made me love the actor. Since then I have seen just about everything Vincent. To have met someone that actually knew him was amazing! In true horror movies of old fashion, the gods were with us when we went because the thunder, lightning, and rain completely added to the experience. It was great. I can't wait to go again to see his new pieces of memorabilia.

This museum is nothing short of awesome. It explores the rich and interesting history of horror icons and movies. There are actual screen used items from various actors. The curator Courtlandt Hull has a family connection with many amazing anecdotes about the genre.

What a fun and interesting experience. It was really exciting to hear all about the history of the pirates in the museum. We really appreciated seeing the parts/pieces be brought back to life. Movie history is really important and it takes me to a time of horror films my grandmother used to speak about. I appreciated the museum in all of its glory. Only downsides are that it is cash only, and I wish it was larger. It’s sad to know how so many of these types of artifacts have disappeared or been destroyed over the years. We were very thankful to experience what we did. Thank you!

Took a friend who loves film for her birthday on a Friday 13th earlier last month. Very cool museum that educates about early Hollywood and film. I loved seeing some saved artifacts and learning how the owner came upon these items from movies I remember as a kid. Highly recommend. Best to call ahead to make a reservation so the staff are prepared for your group. Finding the parking lot was a bit difficult, found parking by following the train track area through a parking lot, and then was able to park in front of the entrance, facing the train tracks… got it?! Lol

They always do a fantastic job and this Christmas season is another successful venture for Cortland and his staff. I love all the grinch additions and the attention to detail they added in to the regular displays. When you go watch for all the little things. Cortland told us they have extended the show to January 10 so there is plenty of time to go visit.

Very interesting and informative place to enjoy figures and props from classic horror films. Was enjoyable listening to the owner talk about the history behind the peices and the relation he has to them, through his great uncle.
