I first visited this Pawn Shop the day I my mom and I moved from Bristol to Hartford a few months ago. It was a lovely experience. We bought a great selection of CDs. I’ve also sold some things there with no problem. I am looking forward to going back and buying more. Every time I visit there stock is different and I’m eager to take a look around and see what catches my eyes.

I would go here to buy tools for myself & my 13 year old son as he enters trade school to be a mechanic. They change their pricing at the counter when you're ready to pay. This happened on two consecutive visits where the woman (I believe the owner) says she cant sell the Craftsman wrenches at $2 each as priced in the bin I selected them from. She then continues to pull up eBay in front of me and claim "these are worth more than $2.00" and shows me listings on eBay. I'm sorry, but these wrenches were in the bin that is labeled $2. She makes excuses stating "we have two older guys come in here all the time and peel the labels off the Craftsman tools & move things around". That is a horrible excuse. It seems like poor management on her part. To pull up eBay listings and show them to me is extremely rude & unprofessional. Rather than honoring the price marked, she rather nickel & dime me and lose a regular customer. If I wanted to pay eBay prices for tools, I would buy them on eBay. But instead I chose to support a local business with cash in hand. As an avid Craftsman tool collector, and tool user, I know the value & collectability of Craftsman tools. To show me "active" eBay listings is an insult and does not reflect the true value of the tool. Any seller on eBay can place any price they want on it, doesn't mean it will sell for that much. As a life long resident of Plainville, I've never once sold/pawned a single thing in my life. I strictly go there and BUY their stuff. I have spent a lot of money at this shop in the past, and they will NOT receive another penny from me. I will NEVER return to this establishment, and I will do my absolute best to make sure none of my friends or family visit their shop either. To change the price at checkout is criminal, and I will continue to pursue this to save the hassle of fellow residents in this town.

This place is a joke. Sold me an a/c that turned on but didn’t blow cold air. I brought it back and wouldn’t give me my refund. Had to pay an additional $75 for an a/c that only cost about $50 more. Now this a/c is moldy and barely works. Keeps giving an E8 code if on any setting other than low. 10/10 wouldn’t recommend. Total rip off !!!
