ShopRite, 935 Boston Post Rd, Milford“I love this ShopRite! We live in 20 minutes away and drive here for our bi-weekly food shopping! That is for a few reasons: it's always clean, fully stocked and the staff is friendly and helpful! They always have lots of registers open and parking is never an issue! It's also a plus that there a large liquor store in the same shopping center, besides other stores so it's very convenient!”
“This location is clean, organized and has plenty of parking. They seem to be very short staffed, and the inventory was sparse. It was almost impossible to find someone to locate certain seasonings. The deli department was the only area fully staffed. You are on your own for check out, and the software needs to be streamlined. They make it as difficult as possible to find fresh produce and certain individual items on their computer screen. There was only one person available to assist all the customers trying to check out. That employee would definitely benefit from some additional training.”

Stop & Shop - New England, 150 Whalley Ave, New Haven“I don't know why it has so many subpar reviews but I thought it was great! Finally a *normal, large supermarket* (not a quaint little food store with limited options and exorbitant prices) with a huge selection of foods and prices clearly displayed by each item. I really missed such regular supermarkets during my stay in New Haven...this was one of the few.I came here several times while I lived in the area, and particularly liked their pies, potato and egg salads, sauces and salads, and fruits (the pomegranates when they had them were delicious!) I ate a lot healthier thanks to living close to this supermarket for a bit :)”
“It is interesting how each Walgreens in various towns can be completely different. Some are fully stocked while others don't even carry certain items. The staff at this Walgreens were very helpful and efficient. The location is easy to get in and out of if traffic off the highway isn't heavy. The store was relatively clean and offered a good choice of many options for the item I needed for my mom.”
“We have been very happy with this Walgreens. In the seven years we have been turning to them for prescriptions, vaccinations, and the usual range of drugstore items, the staff have been uniformly friendly and helpful in finding things. (Definitely can't say that about the CVS off Connolly Parkway, though when we moved to Hamden, we came as CVS regulars from our previous home elsewhere.) Yes, the store is older and could use a little sprucing up. But it's clean, well-stocked, and very well-run. (If they run out of an advertised item, they have been quick to offer a rain check.) The pharmacists have gone out of their way to be helpful on several occasions, and the pharmacy and front end wait has generally been been shorter than at CVS). The store may be a little homely, but it's a neighborhood asset no less than Spring Glen Hardware. Remove review”

Stratford Shop Rite, 250 Barnum Ave Cutoff, Stratford“I'm in pain a lot of the time with a few ruptured discs plus sciatica so I try not to walk far. The electric carts are wonderful but I can't find one at Stratford's store without hiking to the closed entrance I'm told. Why would they be on the opposite end of the only open entrance? For that matter, when I self check out I'm at an exit but it's closed so I'm forced to hike again. Is it so difficult to keep both exits available to those of us having to be parked near it or those who have difficulty walking distances? Sure easy for you to monitor masks at one door rather than let us run freely in and out at two points. Madness! LOL About the same in Milford but their electric carts are many and easily accessed. Bravo to the friendly Deli keeping Chopped Chicken Liver in stock!”

112 Amity Rd, New Haven“This Stop and Shop store was clean, organized, and very well stocked. There were plenty of staff on the floor for assistance in locating items that have been completely rearranged. The prices at this location appear to be much higher than they are at other branches. The organic fresh food area and their Nature's Promise section is one of the best aspects of this store. They carry a full line of both fresh and frozen products for every dietary preference.”

88 York St, New Haven“This store is in a superb location. It is easily accessible and very convenient. The shelves are only semi stocked and the employees are friendly, but not very knowledgeable. There is plenty of parking available. With the right management, this store could come back to its former glory. Considering its proximity to downtown New Haven, it is a gem waiting to be rejuvenated with the proper, prompt attention.”

70 Elm St, West Haven“It is incredible how different drug stores operate during these inflationary times. Rite Aid is one of those stores that seems to have the smallest inventory on hand on a day-to-day basis. If you are looking for something in particular, most likely, they will not have it on the shelf. The store was relatively clean and was severely understaffed unless everyone was on break. Unfortunately, we were unable to find the item my mom requested. It was a disappointing shopping experience, but fortunately there are other stores in the area.”

404 Main St, Ansonia“I go to the Ansonia Rite Aid between 2-3 X's a week & this Rite Aid is incredible. The store is always spotless & the employees are outstanding. Theirs a cashier named Savannah who gets to know her customers. I'm only 46 yrs old & have poor health & my husbands dad hasn't been doing good with his health for almost 1 yr & over the course of time Savannah & I have chatted about life when there's no line & there was a period of 3 months where I hadn't been in due to my health & my dad in laws health & when Savannah saw me she remembered everything I told & she asked me about my health & about some serious tests I had done ect. Also they go out of their way to help you find things & I've had them go on their website to try to find an item if it isn't in their store. My husband works for their competitor Walgreens & he's a store manager & he just turned 40 & just celebrated his 24th Anniversary at Walgreens. He started at 16 & by the age of 18 he was a store manager & I brought him in to Ansonia's Rite Aid so he could see how incredible the staff is. Last week I went to the Shelton Walmart & all the employees looked miserable & acted like they hate their jobs & the cashiers are usually not friendly & with the Ansonia Target they're usually nice but many times I've had very rude employees. Also I refuse to go to the Ansonia CVS because you can find anyone to help you & the store is always a mess. So to sum it up The Ansonia Rite Aid has a fantastic staff & the store is always spotless. Highly recommend this Rite Aid. If I could I'd give it 10 stars”
