I used to shop here all the time after it first opened. Now I refuse. The last time I walked in I was practically followed around like a common criminal. Seriously! Leave me to shop in peace! I miss the warmth and personality of the original staff. Since they left its new faces all the time, most of whom have attitudes.

There's so much I liked about the Ulta store in Old Saybrook but most of all it's the customer service.The ladies there are very friendly and knowledgeable. Melanie helped me find exact what I was searching for. Thank you!

From the moment my friend and I walked into the store we were being followed around, eyeballed, and pestered with the classic “can i help you find anything”, even after I had already told an associate what I was looking for. You could physically feel the tension in the establishment. I would like to add that I am a grown adult, as is my friend. We’ve both worked retail and know the loss prevention training. It is extremely unsavory and unappealing as a customer to be so obviously profiled as a shop lifter. I ended up going to the Guilford location where there was nothing but good vibes and the associates were appropriately friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this Old Saybrook location do some training on how not to run potential customers out the door.

I’ve been shopping here for a while but the last two times I’ve been in I have had the best experience working with Lisa. She is so friendly and knowledgeable and has picked out the perfect makeup for me and my skin type.

My first time shopping at Ulta was excellent!!!!! I love how they have the makeup brand I wear. I was looking for the right shade of foundation to match my skin tone, the staff working there was so helpful and helped me get the perfect shade. Will definitely be going back.
