Pet Stores & Supplies
The Feed Bag
20 Old Boston Post Rd, Old SaybrookThis is more than just a pet store. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable. I had seen two vets regarding my dogs digestive issues and tried two different prescription dog foods that made them sicker. My friend sent me to the Feed Bag and the first food the owner recommended fixed both dogs issues immediately and now they have perfect stools. I am so grateful for the help and guidance. Great experience!!

Smithland Pet & Garden Center
923 Boston Post Rd, Old SaybrookA little over a week ago I used the Old Saybrook Smithland Dog wash station, it was a great experience. Being able to walk in and out of the store with a clean 70lbs pup in under an hr is an amazing. The store manager Justin was incredibly helpful in showing me how to use the dog was station and what comes with it! Towels, soap, protective aprons and a high powered dryer are all included!

Choice Pet - Old Saybrook
28 Spencer Plains Rd, Old SaybrookIt was a shock coming in to Choice Pet again after a year of choosing not to shop there! It was like day and night! I’m so thankful and happy to see the new management at this location. I stopped shopping here because it had become so dirty and always had stock issues. The employees were rude and didn’t ever seem to be happy! Not exactly a place I want to spend my money! But now it is so clean and always smells so good. Stock has become so much better and if they don’t have something I need, they order it for me within the same week! The baths are spotless whenever I come in to wash my dogs. The manager there now is amazing and always so helpful. Always smiling and asking if we need help with anything! So glad I made the choice to come back! Keep up the good work because it’s appreciated!

Pet Grooming
Pampered Pets Grooming Salon
775 Boston Post Rd, Old SaybrookWe love this place. We have been going there for about 2 years by now. The people are friendly and take good care of our pets. We get lion cut and wash for our long hair cat, Tashi and wash for our other cat, Sophie.

Pet Care
Animal Hospital of Old Saybrook
21 Spencer Plains Rd, Old SaybrookYou come away from Animal Hospital of Old Saybrook feeling like the entire team -- from reception, to vet techs, to Dr. Shrack -- love your pet as much as you do. Great folks. And we've had to be there a lot in the last few years with an aging pup.

Saybrook Veterinary Hospital
807 Middlesex Turnpike, Old SaybrookWe cannot say enough good things about this veterinary hospital. Unfortunately, we are here quite often for one of our high maintenance dogs! Every time, we are greeted by friendly technicians who are so patient with his very high energy. I think it speaks volumes that our dog absolutely LOVES going to the vet to see all of his friends.
All of the doctors are so patient, professional and knowledgeable. They provide both of our dogs with the best care. We have the utmost trust in their recommendations. They have referred us to specialists at other hospitals on occasion and have continued to follow the care of our dogs. They do not just hand off their care to someone new.
I think one of the best things about this hospital is that the doctors are always available. Anytime I call with a question or email, I always am able to connect with a doctor within minutes with the answer. This is rare to come by so I've found out!
All of the doctors and technicians here are truly amazing. We are so lucky to have them. We will never take our pets elsewhere! Thank you for being the best of the best!

Pet-Friendly Restaurants
Liv's Oyster Bar & Restaurant
166 Main St, Old SaybrookMy wife and I went with friends visiting from Los Angeles on Saturday evening. The food and drink were, as usual, fantastic, and our server, Alex, was outstanding. I almost always write a review of this place when we eat there and I've never had a negative thing to say about Liv's. Nice job! We'll be back.

Myrcene Ale Co.
39 Ragged Rock Rd, Old SaybrookNot a bad brewery with a good selection of beers. It occupies one big indoor space with no separation, plus a patio is available as well.
The star of the show are the beers on tap. There is a good variety of them. I've tried every single one for this review and although there were beers which I enjoyed less, all of them were pretty solid. I would recommend their stout (Midnight Waves) and saison (Oh Peaches) as they are full of taste expected from these styles. You can order beer flights here. No food is available except some snacks.
There are several stacks of boardgames available for use. The interior of the building might need small repairs. I also docked a star due to inaccurate description of events available. We went to the brewery because the food truck was planned to be there as stated on their website, but it was not. And inside, a poster mentioned a concert for the same day, which did not happen either. The owner works at the bar and he is very friendly.

Sip Wine Bar
85 Main St, Old SaybrookSip Wine Bar is the best! They make an effort to welcome everyone and share in their love for wine. After going there a few times, we recently purchased a few bottles of Italian wines at a local package store and the owner stated “Wow! you have really know your Italian wines. These are what I would would have picked for myself.” Thank SIP!!!! You have opened our eyes and made wine even more enjoyable.

Mirsina's Restaurant
162 Main St, Old SaybrookMirsina's gets me in and out in about 30 minutes. Within a couple of minutes someone takes my drink order and in another few minutes my order has been placed. Even on the busiest of days I get my food within 10 minutes. The staff recognizes me and other regulars. Because I come in before work, I don't have the luxury of time. Thank you for always cooking my order right and keeping my drink topped off.

Penny Lane Pub
150 Main St, Old SaybrookWe had fish and chips which was good, but after arriving for our reservation we were seated and could barely stand to stay due to the freezing temperature inside. We asked our server if the temperature could be adjusted but were told it was hot in the kitchen. The girl that had seated us told us she had to go out and buy a sweatshirt because she was so cold. We then asked to be seated outside just to stay warm (as my Jean jacket wasn't helping). We had thought we'd be eating in a cute pub so eating street side in a lackluster environment was disappointing. I swear the temps inside must have been cooler than 65.

Fresh Salt
2 Bridge St, Old SaybrookBrunch review. Quite outstanding in variety and quality. Service and friendly staff top shelf. Long walk from seating to serving areas slightly awkward, but certainly manageable. We'd come back in a heartbeat!
