“As more folks escape the city for the delights of the CT Shoreline, we benefit from the talent and sophisticated taste they're bringing with them. Latest in the string of happy transplants (from Brooklyn), is this married couple who, between them, are a talented mashup of interior designer, antique seller, and art gallerist. Like many of us, they fell head over heels with an antique house with historic Olmsted Brothers gardens and moved their various businesses to Old Lyme. Artemisia is their charming shop tucked behind Cooley Gallery on Lyme Street. If you're anything like me, you'll swoon over the hand-printed Fortuny fabrics, the swatches of real silk velvet, and selection of pillows stitched up from the above. Rosemarie handles all the interior design and has a team of talented upholsters and furniture makers who can whip up your wildest dreams, while Marcello is off on the hunt for antiques and objects to fill the airy space. While there are plenty of pillows that have on my name on them, I was struck by Rosemarie's expansive inventory of printed and plain indoor/outdoor materials (no blah Sunbrella here!). She suggests putting these bulletproof fabrics to work indoors. Love the idea of a white velvet sofa, but kids, dogs, and other messy obstacles prevent you from diving in? Here it's a no-brainer, as these indestructible fabrics can take on any abuse you can throw at them. Genius. Check out their website for plenty of interior inspiration, and stop in to browse the fabric library and say hi.”

“Clothes with class and style at an affordable price. Same for jewelry and accessories. My wife, daughters and I have all had great success finding whatever we need gifting or otherwise. Also, Grace employees ARE personable and attentive. On a side note, someone had the nerve to trash Grace while admitting that they use the store to "get ideas" before making purchases of clothing online. Essentially, using them as their own personal showroom but not paying for the merchandise. WOW! Unbelievable. Brings the Karen monicker to a whole new level! Shop at Grace then buy at Grace. Most thoughtful people do.”

“I am very happy to give a five star review so far in the process which is basically just from our visit. First I'll share that my husband HATES shopping, and really HATES pushy salespeople, but does have an opinion on what type of chair and couch he sits on, so I needed him to accompany me on this trip. We'd been to other furniture stores in the past where we were attacked by salespeople upon entering the store. This is such a turnoff to him. But here were greeted as we walked in the door and given an opportunity to walk around by ourselves with someone later asking if we needed any help. Donna was so helpful and friendly to deal with. We narrowed down the chairs right away and she helped us with the couches and fabrics. I had brought a pillow with me that had the fabric of the window treatments in the room that we were keeping so we needed to coordinate fabrics to go with it. She was great with that. She allowed us to take the fabrics home with us to see how they looked in the room. She wrote up a quote for us as well. Not pushy at all!! Upon my second visit we needed a slightly different shade for one fabric and then we ordered. Pretty seamless. The new location in Clinton is beautifully done. “The employees at this store are fabulous. I've been watching a chair on Chairish for months, and it was finally reduced to a really excellent price. They held it for me until I could get there today. I guess I wasn't sure how big it is, but it's HUGE. It for sure didn't fit in the back of my SUV. so the employees managed to get fit it in with just a small portion protruding and bungee corded it very securely in my vehicle so I could make the seventy mile drive home with my new purchase. Thanks so much for the effort. I'm thrilled with my purchase.”
