To all you folks who don’t read the notices on the pumps - apparently quite a lot - it’s YOUR BANK that puts the hold on your account, not Stop and Shop....I mean, get real, use your thinking caps...you think a *grocery store* has access to your checking account?

Trash station avoid if possible. The hold is up to $175. That’s 35 gallons at $5/gallon. My car holds less than 16.

On Saturday 7/10/21 around 11 am i went to Stop and Shop here in Norwich CT. I put $20 dollars on lottery machine to buy 2 lottery tickets. I only got 1 ticket. I called for help a lady (leadership team)came with the key but couldn’t help. She didn’t find any money stuck and she can not check the money inside because the machine does not belong to stop and shop. I told her to check camera and she will see that I put $20 and only got one ticket. She said I understand but it is

Bought 15.01 worth of gas. Stop and Shop put a 100.00 hold on my debit card. Called Stop and Shop Gas, asked why they did that? Person told me that they don't do that, it was my bank. Called my bank, they said, we do not do that, it's Stop and Shop. Really???? 100.00 hold for 15 dollars worth of gas. I am appalled. And they hold it for 3 days, when people need their money the most, Stop and Shop puts a large hold on your account when using a debit card to get gas. Shameful.
