“I went to Shufelt's for the first time 5/30/2023. I brought in a 2013 Toyota Camry with brakes starting to grind. They were in rough shape. I work in Norwalk but live in Bristol, so driving this thing home wasn't an option.The whole job was done last minute, and I was able to pick up my car in the morning. I ended up having the brakes and rotors replaced, calipers were serviced, and the technician noticed a sway bar link damaged, so I had him replace that. He showed me the condition of the parts.The vehicle is running great, and the price was fair. I feel like this shop is a good honest shop, and we need more shops like this. I plan on visiting in the future and recommend this shop to anyone in the Norwalk area.Services: Steering & suspension repair”

“Had a great experience with Smitty’s. We were driving from New Jersey and had to be at a wedding in Boston last Friday night. Cruising along at 65 mph on the Merritt Parkway when the yellow check engine light came on and the car suddenly lost most of its power. I immediately got off at the next exit which was Norwalk Connecticut. Did a search for local service centers and Smitty’s seemed to be the closest. Without an appointment, I drove up and one of the owners had one of his mechanics come out and put the car on a scope to diagnose it. It turned out to be a misfiring cylinder. The mechanic ordered the necessary parts from a parts dealer who apparently was very close. Within one hour I was back on the road. Dropping the work that he was doing in order to help me out went above and beyond and I am truly thankful for that. I consider it one of the luckiest days in my life!”

“Can't recommend Briggs Tire highly enough!! Excellent mechanics, very low key, they fix my car problems, quickly and with no drama.Background pre-Briggs:I had had 4 new tires put on by a local chain tire store in December 2022. Nothing but trouble for a year. Tires would not hold air, warning lights constantly going on concerning low tire pressure. This was constant. I would fill them up and light would go on soon after, if it went off at all. Hot weather, cold weather, any weather. I had never had these problems previous to getting the new tires at the local chain.Briggs determined that it was a tire pressure valve problem and a few other issues.Briggs solved it all and fixed all of it for a reasonable price. Very friendly, super honest people who really want to help you and solve your car issues.Briggs also checked my car out, engine, brakes, etc. and told me that everything was good, while another place had told me I needed a few thousands dollars worth of work.Car now runs great, I can finally relax and not worry anymore about tires or anything else.Briggs gets my highest recommendation!! Very grateful that I have found them.”

“If you're not going here for your tires, you're missing out on old school A+ hometown service. My sister sent me to this little gem of a shop when I had a slow leak in a fairly new tire. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. They diagnosed the issue as a puncture from a screw, removed the screw, plugged the hole, topped off all tires with air and sent me on my way for 10 bucks. I tipped the competent and friendly person who helped me (It was so quick I didn't catch his name), went on my way, and have been fine since. I will never go to my dealer or big box store for tire issues again. My sister and brother-in-law also buy their tires at Currie's, now, I will too. Thanks Currie's!!”

“Honestly very happy with my experience here. I was expecting to pay much more, nearly double than what I actually paid. He didn’t even bill me for a full hour of work, when I’m sure many other shops would’ve drilled into my pockets for the same service or would’ve billed a full hour if able.Reading through the reviews on this thread, it seems as if many of the one-star reviews involve being towed. Of course if your cars towed you’re going to have a horrible experience. Shame to see this shop owner becoming the punching bag.All in all, my opinion is that he’s a skillful mechanic and trustworthy guy. Will go back again in the unfortunate event of car trouble.”

“I am so glad to have found Hank Mays in Norwalk. The place is run by 2 or 3 very nice elderly men. My Toyota is 12 years old so it has a few aches and pains and requires some more maintenance. But since the dealership in Westport is run by a bunch of rude, clueless, incompetent bozos who have absolutely no idea about customer service and try to sell you things you dont need, I only go there for regular check-ups and whatever needs to be repaired I go to Hank May whose prices are significantly lower and I get too notch service. I've been going there for several years and I never had one complaint.”

“When I found my one of my tire became flat after work, it was really frustrating and depressing. I called the Costco tire center in the hope of getting help because the tires were purchased from them a few years ago. Danny answered my question with friendly and professional attitude and kindly squeeze me in as a walk-in to the appointment schedule. We arrived at 7:30pm and have the flat tire fixed before the store closed at 8:30pm, all thanks to Danny and his team's help. Great service and great value, will recommend to anyone.”
