“Recently I stopped by to fix a blown front light on my car heard some sounds in the car and decided to also have the car get a general check up, needless to say the car was found to have the rear subframe rotted among other things and was a danger to drive. I came to the shop based on reviews. As a Woman I am always afraid to go to an auto repair shop but I can truly say I was dealt with fairly and honestly by the owner Keal and his team. I now have a safe car driving as a result and plan to use them again in the future.”
“I was turning out of the Whole Foods down the street when BANG!!! I popped my tire on the curb. Freaking out, I pulled down the next street I could. Fate must have brought me to them because as I pulled down the street in a panic, I was right in front of Commercial Tire. They were Fast, efficient, and had a fair price! What a win. I am not a car person and they were so nice and explained the whole process of what they were doing thoroughly. I am so grateful for their service! “I am so glad to have found Hank Mays in Norwalk. The place is run by 2 or 3 very nice elderly men. My Toyota is 12 years old so it has a few aches and pains and requires some more maintenance. But since the dealership in Westport is run by a bunch of rude, clueless, incompetent bozos who have absolutely no idea about customer service and try to sell you things you dont need, I only go there for regular check-ups and whatever needs to be repaired I go to Hank May whose prices are significantly lower and I get too notch service. I've been going there for several years and I never had one complaint.”

“Honestly very happy with my experience here. I was expecting to pay much more, nearly double than what I actually paid. He didn’t even bill me for a full hour of work, when I’m sure many other shops would’ve drilled into my pockets for the same service or would’ve billed a full hour if able.Reading through the reviews on this thread, it seems as if many of the one-star reviews involve being towed. Of course if your cars towed you’re going to have a horrible experience. Shame to see this shop owner becoming the punching bag.All in all, my opinion is that he’s a skillful mechanic and trustworthy guy. Will go back again in the unfortunate event of car trouble.”

“A couple weeks ago I was coming in to visit my brother from Ohio for the weekend and noticed a rubbing sound coming from my passenger front tire.
I pulled into Norwalk New and Used Tires praying they could get me in and get my car back to me the next day.
Without hesitation they said bring it in Saturday morning and they will have it back no problem. Found out a tire bearing was going out and they took great care of me.
I was in a tight spot and they did it a great job with a great price. Thanks guys!”
“Had a great experience with Smitty’s. We were driving from New Jersey and had to be at a wedding in Boston last Friday night. Cruising along at 65 mph on the Merritt Parkway when the yellow check engine light came on and the car suddenly lost most of its power. I immediately got off at the next exit which was Norwalk Connecticut. Did a search for local service centers and Smitty’s seemed to be the closest. Without an appointment, I drove up and one of the owners had one of his mechanics come out and put the car on a scope to diagnose it. It turned out to be a misfiring cylinder. The mechanic ordered the necessary parts from a parts dealer who apparently was very close. Within one hour I was back on the road. Dropping the work that he was doing in order to help me out went above and beyond and I am truly thankful for that. I consider it one of the luckiest days in my life!”
