I went to Shufelt's for the first time 5/30/2023. I brought in a 2013 Toyota Camry with brakes starting to grind. They were in rough shape. I work in Norwalk but live in Bristol, so driving this thing home wasn't an option.The whole job was done last minute, and I was able to pick up my car in the morning. I ended up having the brakes and rotors replaced, calipers were serviced, and the technician noticed a sway bar link damaged, so I had him replace that. He showed me the condition of the parts.The vehicle is running great, and the price was fair. I feel like this shop is a good honest shop, and we need more shops like this. I plan on visiting in the future and recommend this shop to anyone in the Norwalk area.Services: Steering & suspension repair

On 3/17/21, I called the place of business and spoke with David. I explained to him that I was looking to get my mufflers replaced. I told him that I am looking to a get a quote cheaper than what Midas had quoted me and he said, “Oh your looking to pay like $200 or something?” I replied to him and said that I’m not looking to pay $1200 Midas quoted me but something a bit cheaper. He says come by and I’ll put car on lift to look at.I get there 2 hours after our call and the door is closed and so I knock a few times....nothing. I call and David picks up on the first ring....I tell him who I am and he comes outside. During the call a truck pulls up and it’s a gentleman who knows him. As I’m leading David to my car where it’s parked, he goes and speaks with gentleman for 5 minutes and then comes to me and says to park car in front of garage entrance. He crouches down and looks under the car and pops shaking his head and says it’s going to be an expensive job and that I should look somewhere else. I look at him with a weird look and ask, well what’s the price? He says it’s gonna be like $600 probably and I’m like ok that’s fine.....he says ok and then goes in shop and let’s the door close behind him as I’m following him. He goes to the back and he’s either speaking with someone or on phone but comes back and says both pipes are going to be $350 each and not including centerhead piece. David didn’t even bother putting my car up on the lift to really take a look at my car like he said he was going to do. It was insulting to me for him to assume that I couldn’t afford to pay for that job by dismissing me saying it’s going to be an expensive job and that I should look elsewhere. I wonder if I was a bit lighter in skin tone, would he have spoken and treated me like that? His customer service skills are the worst I’ve come by and he needs to treat people of color with respect.

Called to have a simple temp sensor replace literally a ten min job tells me a few hundreds bucks . Hourly rate $120 a hour pal part $30 bucks on markup where do you get a few hundred bucks.. trying to rip people off is bad for business hanging up on a person is even worse....

Had to get a new battery for my Jeep and a headlight fixed. They did both quickly and the car now works like a dream once again. Highly recommend for their service, quality and price. Close to Wall Street shopping, bars, & restaurants too

I’ve brought 3 cars, multiple times, with a variety of issues. Dave, and his Dad, do a terrific job, charge a fair price, and give an honest diagnosis and assessment. Never any issues. I’ve asked, on several occasions, ‘what should I do?’ and I get a well thought out answer.
