I used this garage based on friends recommendation. Very pleased.
Good, honest & friendly service, very reasonable charges.
The garage allows customer to bring their own fluid & filter and only charge labor. which I did because I'm particular about using specific oil and OEM parts.

I went to this gas station shell 640 main st at 7:00 am and waited until 7:40am when the mechanic got there, I explained that I had a nail on my tire and he said he would not look into it until the 8;00am and said in a very rude way that he only works at 8. I thought he was in a bad mood and decided to come back after work maybe I was luck to get a better mechanic. I went back at 4:30 and was the same Mechanic, I asked very politely if could check my air plug in my tire, there was another customer inside and he said no . Definitely because he wouldn't make Much money Horrible place and experience. If you have any problem Go to the next shell. The lady from the parking lot said she had a bad experience at the 640 main shell too

I visited the convenient store at this gas/repair station this past Monday 11/13/23. The store is supposed to close at 10pm. I arrived at 9:35pm and was informed by the older man that he already counted out the register and I couldn’t play lotto. How do you have 25 minutes more before closing and you counted out the till!?I wouldn’t waste my time returning here for anything, that older man is definitely not customer friendly nor does he value business from local patrons!

1. My car went to the West Rocks Shell shop without any damage to my Sparco wheel/rims. When I picked up my vehicle after being serviced there, one of the front wheel rims had significant, very fresh, same day damage scrapes and with some contact marks, or hand print marks. The other wheel/rim had only the abrasion rub marks, or contact marks in the similar area. When I brought the vehicle back and showed the damage, they would not own up to it. To avoid getting further irate and stressed, I just drove off and left never to continue bringing my car there again for repairs and maintenance. 2. I had also the prior day replaced the $67 Cold Air Intake filter which is an exposed conical intake performance filter under the hood besides the engine. When I got home after having left West Rock, I opened the hood and now noticed the brand new filter had indentations on the filter grooves most likely from some type of obvious heavy contact. I suspect it may have been the mechanic not being careful there if he was under the hood while working the vehicle, but am not sure if it was me, or not after the installation, but I would have noticed it before closing the hood. 3. Naturally, most customers would like to know how much their repair may cost. So, I had requested on the shop intake form for an estimate of the repair job and there was no box to check off saying, "Just surprise me when done!" West Rocks never called, nor left a message on my phone informing me of the estimated costs prior to initiating the work. They just went ahead and did it anyway without letting me know what it would cost me. If it had turned out to be more than I could afford, they probably wouldn't have allowed me to drive away with my car. It's always a good idea to get an estimate from a repair shop. 4. Their website still states they offer free shuttle service where ever you want to go. Yup. Instead, I was handed a Norwalk Taxi card they hand out so I can get back home. Wasn't the first time either. Norwalk Taxi only takes cash so I had to use the West Rocks Shell ATM machine and pay the $3.00 cash withdrawal fee to get cash so I can get back home. Then the Uber ride two days later to pick up the car. So, the free, round trip shuttle service was around $40 plus the $3.00 tip for the ATM machine. I don't expect and demand rides from shops, but if they advertise they do, then that's another story. So, if you have a bike rack and bike, bring it with you to West Rocks Shell and hope it's not a rainy day.

Typically stop by every couple of months or so for the past few years as it's got a convenient location and I try to squeeze in a walk-in oil change with their fantastic oil change pricing. Today I had a quart of oil I needed help with putting in and checking my brake fluid. The cashier was professional and welcoming and made me feel assured it was okay to ask for help. The mechanic on duty, was so very nice and courteous to help me right away. I apologetically explained I had mistakenly bought a 10-30 from a store instead of a 5-30. He quickly explained the difference and spoke to me as an equal and was just so genuinely nice and professional about it. Thank you West Rocks Shell! I am grateful for your help! Thank you for being good people!

I recently had my brakes done here at a reasonable price. And this week, I went in concerned about other items. Kevin was SO nice! He only made the repairs I needed for a good price. There were other things I could have done, but he didn't pressure me to purchase additional services. Thank you!

Would avoid at all costs. Psycho night worker with serious anger issues that poses a danger to the community. I have seen him curse out customers and even try to assault someone. I hope the owner contacts me after seeing this so I can discuss this in further detail. Tons of gas stations nearby so better off to not take the risks with such a loose canon.
