I went there to get an estimate for new brake pads service. The guy ignored me for about 3-4 minutes with his desk phone to his ear saying nothing on the phone or to me whole time, not even a "I'll be with you in minute index finger gesture" I found a different garage to do it.

Charged me 1 hour labor for a simple visual diagnosis. Detached tailpipe ...hanging off when I brought it in. So, yeah, it's detached. After an hour I went back to him + he said he lost my phone # so couldn't call me. Estimate was high so I said let me pay you for the diagnosis and go. The cost was more than half what the repair was going to be. He did look at my car within 15 minutes. I didn't ask for that but it was nice anyway. He was friendly enough. Best wishes to them. Must've been a bad day.

If you are looking for a good, honest mechanic, I recommend you go see Bob at Ed's Corner Service. Ed is up in the great garage in the sky, but Bob has been my mechanic ever since I moved to East Norwalk seven years ago. He has repaired brakes and replaced parts of the ignition system. He even made sure we got the warrantee replacement for a part that he had previously replaced and was no longer functioning. He helped vet a used car my son was considering buying and diagnosed problems as they developed. He recommends competent specialists, if the work is outside his abilities. He is thorough and has kept my three vehicles - none of which are anything fancy - running well. Not sure what that other reviewer was talking about. I'm glad Bob doesn't run his business in a way that would allow him to drop the work he is doing to rush to the aid of a new customer with a flat. That is why you pay AAA. Anyway, if I hear some odd noise or I just need an oil change and a good once-over before winter sets in, I go to Ed's Corner Service.

Honest, reliable, and helpful. He's been there forever and is a hidden treasure. There's a reason why other mechanics recommend that you go to him. Keep in mind, this is a one man shop and he takes care of each person individually. Example: My wife had the kids with her in the car and needed a repair. He closed the shop and drove them home so they would not have to wait around for me to get home and pick them up. He even offered to come pick her up once the car was ready, so she wouldn't have to worry about it. Can't recommend this place highly enough!

Wow, totally unhelpful, inept, and rude. Situation; my tire blows out on 1st street, literally 100 feet from Ed's establishment. Since I live in the neighborhood, I was looking forward to giving business to a local establishment. I drive into his driveway on my rim. I see a guy (Ed?) walking back into his open service bay, I walk over and say hello, he looks at me, says nothing, then closes the roll up door literally with me just on the other side. Ummm. So I go inside and ask if he can put my spare tire on. His answer was, no he's busy all day, mind you it's only 9:15am in the morning. So back out to his small parking lot, that I'm now stuck in since I can't drive the car, to call AAA. He comes out, doesn't say anything and starts to put air in my tire and tells me I should be on my way. Says if I hurry, maybe I can make it to Curry Tires, 3 miles away! Remember the tire is blown, so I drive on the rim across the street to wait for AAA. AAA arrives in less than 20 mins, changes the tire in 15 mins. Love AAA. So long story short, Ed couldn't be bothered to do a 15 min repair job! Unbelievable. AAA was free, I was planning on paying Ed. Take Ed's own advice, go to CurryTires or just call AAA or in fact anybody else.
