Great experience! Was going to make my niece a formal dress for homecoming, I had a pattern and we just needed some fancy fabric, this place did a great job in helping us find some appropriate alternatives and my niece found one that she liked. The prices were very reasonable and they had everything needed to make the perfect dress. Would totally recommend to others and will return when I'm back in the area.

I just had a terrible experience in this place. I asked for assistance in looking for a specific kind of fabric and the ladies ignored me. Then, they proceed to help some other customers who came after me. I can assumed that they ignored me because I am 100 % Spanish. I cannot believe this is still happening! If you look like me be aware, they will discriminate you.!

I was last at this store about 6 years ago-I bought what I went in to get and whilst waiting to be checked out the saleswoman behind the counter was helping another and being really thoughtful- suddenly a man behind the counter is so rude to her- tells her that she needs not to be talking to customers so much,he continues, he is abusive and nasty and just evil. I was so moved emotionally in such a horrific way that when I left the store I called and spoke to the salesperson-I was crying and devastated (it isn't fun to watch another human being demeaned in front of a store filled with people-) uncomfortable for them -she assured me she was alright and that as I mentioned I hoped she wasn't married to him- as that would have made the situation worse- to have abuse at home and at work.She said she wasn't married to him
Anyway, today I was trying to think of a fabric store for a small job at work and part of me wants to go back and check on her and part of me wants to go anywhere else- 6 years on and that scene still moves in a downward spiral sort of way.

I love this shop. They helped me choose a cotton voile and it turned out to be one of the loveliest fabrics I've ever bought. Their selection is very well curated, it's a special place that I enjoy visiting.

The best fabric store I have been to! Phenomenal selection of quality non-synthetic fiber clothing fabrics, enthusiastic and knowledgeable people to help you choose. Reasonable price/yd. I hope they keep their sewing patterns as well- sometimes you’re inspired by a pattern to get a certain fabric and vice versa. Made a Chanel style jacket from their tweed and bubblegum pink rayon lining, and a sewing pattern from the store as well.

I hope they keep their sewing patterns as well- sometimes you’re inspired by a pattern to get a certain fabric and vice versa. Made a Chanel style jacket from their tweed and bubblegum pink rayon lining, and a sewing pattern from the store as well.

Banksville Fabrics is a true gem of a fabric store. This is a smaller independently owned fabric store, but their selection is the best I've found in the tri-state area (including the now largely defunct garment district). Their staff is all extremely knowledgeable, the store is impeccably organized, their prices incredibly fair, and the quality of the fabrics and trimmings they carry unsurpassed. If you're looking for bargain $1-2/yd synthetic junk fabric stick to Jo-Annes and Michaels, if you're ready to upgrade to beautiful fabrics in natural fibers (cottons, linens, wools, silks, and assorted blends and stretch blends) this is where to go. They do also carry gorgeous synthetics you're not going to find elsewhere, Lycra, spandex, and other stretch fabrics. Weightings range from light weight to heavier upholstery. They also have additional on-site storage so if you don't see what you're looking for on the sales floor ask, because they may be able to find something for you.
