I was paying for an inactive service for many, many months. The company did not call, email or notify us via the mail the service was not live. When I asked about it, I was told to read the fine print on the contract and they would not offer a refund. Run away - horrifyingly bad service.

Do not use! Have you ever wondered how a business stays operational when they're just terrible both at customer service and rude. The owner is quite literally incapable of taking criticism or hearing issues with the service. Due diligence is required for these types of services and they fail at every metric.

DO NOT USE THIS SECURITY COMPANY! I wish I had read previous reviews about its deceptive practices and its unreliability. It's clear it all starts at the top from its president John Pearson. Beware of signing up with them as they'll try to lock you into long term contracts. And when you call to cancel, the American Alarm rep never says you must cancel in writing. Had they said that, you could easily send off an email. Instead, they just keep charging which is another reason why you shouldn't use auto-pay. You'd be wise to find a five-star security company that is accredited by the Better Business Bureau. NOT THIS COMANY. YOU'VE BEEN FOREWARNED.

DO NOT USE THIS SECURITY COMPANY!!!! Read the many reviews posted online that cite their deceptive business practices and unreliability. They try to lock you into long-term contracts and when you eventually call to cancel, they do nothing. No one there acknowledges you must cancel in writing. You only learn this after they keep charging your card. If you need to find a security company, find one that gets consistent five-star ratings. There's a clear reason this company is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau.

Agree with the other review...tried to cancel my service as I purchased the home with the system installed. I asked to have the service canceled, they will only cancel with full payment for a 60 month contract, plus a penalty. Have to get lawyers involved now...total waste of time and money, avoid at all costs.

We have been with American Alarm for over 20 years. They have always been profesional and caring. Anytime they come to our home for a service call they are on time and very fast. Thier call center has some wonderful caring people. Great company to deal with.

American alarm is an absolutely amazing alarm company!! From the sales rep answering all of my questions to the installation, we had a great experience with them. We feel very safe in our home with their alarm system and highly recommend!!
