“Always friendly, they remember their regular names, that is customer service you don't get in most other places. The guys at the desk are personable, funny, helpful, and professional. They have po boxes, slot to drop mail pre-stamped. They sell packaging products, even tape. Prices are listed, but it can be a bit much, but the staff is helpful. The line can be long at lunch hour, but stop in after 130ish and it's pretty peaceful. Parking lot is easy to get in. Getting out can be rough if your trying to go south (left), but I generally go right and then try to u-turn it just turn at most convenient spot.”

“This is by far the best post office I have ever visited. The staff there are super- helpful and friendly. It is small and a bit hidden away but has a lot of charm and character. A great alternative to the main town post office.”

“Haven't been here in years and it is still as efficient as it was back then. The staff is helpful and they have respectful attitudes towards their customers. They also have poster 7 posted as directed. The hours are 8am-4pm weekdays and 8am-12pm Saturdays according to staff on 1/18/2023.”

“For a government facility they are fantastic. The employees are friendly and they actually care, Management tries to help you as much as possible and they answer their phones. If you do have to wait a long time it is Simply because they don't have enough funding, You can tell that employees try their hardest and recognize that there are issues They do what they can for the ones that can control and other ones that'll admit to that are issues.”

“Came here because my local USPS was mobbed! Sal was very friendly & helped me choose the best option to ship my documents. He was very knowledgeable & didn't try to up sell me on any services that I didn't need. He was very patient & allowed me to pick the perfect "cute stamps" I was looking for too! I appreciated his honesty & great service. This branch was clean, practicing social distancing & everybody was wearing masks. It was a great experience & I wanted to let them know I appreciate all their hard work during these difficult times out there.”

“The postal workers at this site are wonderful -- friendly and helpful. Also, our mail carrier, who works out of this site, is fantastic. She always has a smile and a kind word.”

“The workers at this location are personable, helpful, and friendly. There is sometimes a line/it moves slow, but it's a small post office and lots of times during the day when it's not busy at all.”

“Very happy with the service handling a refund. The staff paid attention to my questions and handled the matter expeditiously. Thank you USPS, I appreciate your help.”

“Stuff in this location much nicer than other USPSs I have been to for example stamford. Though I lost two packages through this USPS, my buyers said they never received the package, despite that I shipped them right away. Fortunately these were not too valuable. Although they couldn’t reverse the lost, they tried their best looking for the package and followed through. I hope they can keep up the good work thank you!”

“This is not a Post Office for the public. It is just a building which your mail carriers operate out of.Clearly the folks leaving negative reviews are d*** as dirt.”

“I give 5 stars for the post office itself. Major is absolutely fantastic at his job and is wonderfully helpful. He also seems very patient and has a good sense of humor, which I’m sure he needs working at that post office. The delivery drivers on the other hand have earned a 1 star review. I have had packages thrown into our yard, mail that has simply never showed up, and have had claims that signatures were attempted yet was home all day and our security system never recorded anyone coming to the door. I definitely recommend physically going to the post office to receive exceptional service.”

“The post office in our town is the greatest. The nicest folks behind the counter in all my dealings with them, and I've been a customer for 35 years. Luis, Oxana, Scott, and Shaneeta are the best. It seems like they can't do enough to help. Passports, packages, etc. All good.”

“I went for a passport appointment a little early and was told to wait in the lobby, then called back in at my appointment time. My passport photo I had with me didn’t meet the requirements but the woman at the front desk (with a gorgeous silk press) told me politely and quickly took a new photo of me. She took a great picture and even complimented me. She explained the process and wait times associated thoroughly and effectively and made sure I understood each part. All in all a wonderful experience. Thank you!”

“I have never experienced anything but friendly, efficient service at our local USPS. DeJoy will never convince me that the post office should be privatized. Thanks to all who work for the Post Office and may they know how much they are appreciated, every day.”

“I've lived here for three years and I've never had anything but good experiences here. The staff is courteous and efficient. It would be nice if they were open later but that's true of a lot of things.”

“Ship-Rite Packaging was wonderful! I needed to send a package for my niece's birthday at, of course, the eleventh hour on a late Friday afternoon. While I love the USPS for efficiency and convenience, I just couldn't make it to the Post Office before it closed. Because my route home was Guilford to East Haven, Ship-Rite was one of two really accessible choices. I called ahead and found that they were indeed open. (They even wound up staying a few minutes past closing.) I found them easily, just off Route 1 - you can practically see it from the door of the Parthenon Diner. Good location. Free, easily-accessible parking in a clear, well-lit lot. The sign on the door says that they offer notary services as well as shipping. A gentleman named Jon waited on me. He asked the same questions that the Post Office asks about the contents of the package. He chatted in a friendly manner (as opposed to the tone of an honestly overworked postal worker). I DID NOT find this at all nosy (as another reviewer had said) - and this chatting reminded me of the batteries I'd included and about which I had totally forgotten. That changed the way my niece's new crystal ball would travel and I'm REALLY glad that he caught it. Another gentleman, Ed, came out and introduced himself. I introduced the topic of supporting small local businesses and we spoke briefly. They have been in business since, well, since the last century. I don't understand the negative reviews because my experience was seamless. Simple transaction, and my niece got her present from Auntie Rebekah as planned. Thanks, Ship-Rite!”

“This is for one patient man in particular that works there...every time I see him here he is in a calm patient mood no matter how busy or what happens and he's very sympathetic about his other employees and never complains”

“I'm waiting on a package, but I found out that packages are heavier this year than it's been in 30 years. I feel for those mail workers around Christmas.”

“I had An issue where I lost my tracking number/receipt. Although this is not their fault but it is incredibly frustrating that the systems cannot simply type your name and address to see your account or history of your transaction with th PO. So it took a long time to get to a point where we’ve filtered everything so they can look and find my tracking number. Javis(excuse spelling) he was incredible patient and worked with me to get my tracking number. I appreciate that. Thanks.”

“The story- I was in a rush because I thought the Post Office closed at 12- realized later that I was looking at the PO in Cheshire, Massachusetts. Jumped in the car to get there at 11:59 and saw 12:30 on the door. I had rushed out without properly wrapping my item in order to make it there but now had plenty of time yet not enough to go back home to get a better box. The box I had with me was 2 inches too small. I had to ship today because it was an online sale that needed to be shipped out in 3 days; it was the 3rd day. Now 12:10 pm, in my car in the parking lot trying to adjust the wrong size box to fit a wreathe without damaging it. I made it work although the box was dilapidated and ridiculous looking. I used the rest of my tape to cover openings where the box was tilted. (If I purchased a box for $7, my profit would be even less than the $20 I sold it for so wanted to avoid buying one.) The door was just locked when I was done - it was 12:31. 20 minutes wrestling with the box in my car went by fast. Luckily they saw me and unlocked the door, (maybe it was my look of disgust and despair.) They didn’t have to but I appreciate that they did! The clincher, while it was being weighed, the employee heard a text ding. — I actually packaged up my phone inside (Yes I am admitting to that)!! — Anyway, he kindly opened the package so I could get my phone out and offered to retape it for me. Now it is 12:35, borrowed time. Thank YOU!!! Had he not noticed the faint ding, I would’ve shipped my cell phone with the wreathe I sold for $20!! ? (I hope the wreath makes it to Florida without damages considering my ill-fitting box and toddler tape job but maybe he improved its durability as he was taping when I left.? )Moreover, anytime I have come to this post office over the last 20 years, the employees have been very friendly, kind, resourceful and today - extremely patient. Thank YOU!”

“Nestled in the heart of downtown Wallingford, our little post office, in all its unassuming splendor, stands as a testament to simplicity and represents the allure of a bygone era. When you walk through its doors, you're transported back in time, where lines meandered gently and decor exuded a sense of vintage nostalgia. The slow-paced atmosphere provides a gentle whisper from the past, a reminder that - amidst the chaos of the modern world - there still exists a few places where time can take its leisurely course. The lines are not an inconvenience, but rather a sweet reminder of the unhurried pace of small-town life. In a world which forces us to sprint from one task to another, the long waits can serve as a gentle pause, encouraging reflection and appreciation for the grace in patience. The decor has an endearing charm which transports us back to a time when things were less complicated. It's as if the walls themselves hold the wisdom of ages, a silent witness to the ebb and flow of life, inviting us to step into a space where simplicity is celebrated.Amidst the quaint charm and sometimes excruciating pace, it's crucial to remember the USPS is not a business striving for growing profits and perfection. It is a noble institution, a public service which embraces its imperfections and wears them as badges of honor. It stands as one of the few remaining vestiges of a time when life was simpler, where the art of waiting was cherished, and human connection was paramount. In a world that celebrates instant gratification and seamless transactions, the USPS in Wallingford rebels against these modern values, instead providing a sanctuary of serenity, partnered with a steady but manageable hustle and bustle of moving mail. It beckons us to slow down, savor the moments of anticipation, and recognize the profound beauty in embracing the passage of time. It is a place where patience is a virtue, and the simplest of tasks become an opportunity to connect with our surroundings and one another.Five stars, not for its efficiency, but for its unwavering commitment to preserving the essence of a simpler era, dedicated and kind staff, and friendly atmosphere.”

“I just left this particular post office and the service I received was phenomenal! I don't know the name of the mail worker who helped me, but she was great! I was able to send my package in the package that it came in, the package was for someone else who doesn't live near me. All around great service, I'm still wondering why this post office doesn't deliver my mail.”

“Updated: The staff and supervisor were honest and as helpful as they could be given the circumstances. The supervisor was prompt and attentive, a complete 180 from the last time I was in this office. Glad to see the massive improvement.Original review: 1/5 Stars.I waited over an hour to resolve an issue with packages showing as delivered, but never being delivered. The associate up front paged for a supervisor multiple times, but no one ever answered. The associates were all helpful during the time I was there, but the supervisors and management need training or replacement because I’ve never seen service this terrible at a post office.”
