It seemed nothing was for actually for sale, we weren’t allowed to look in anything, and they basically chased us out of the store. I wonder why they had an open sign, an open door, or even a store front if they only sell through online auction, which I (unsuccessfully) tried to get a site/location for.

This place seems to never be open. What kind of antique shop has by appointment days. Even on a day where I could shop freely, there was nobody inside, the door was locked, and when I called nobody picked up. These people obviously don’t care and aren’t bothered with any customer. Don’t bother coming here, they probably aren’t open if you do.

Just like the other reviews, they don’t answer phone, have no phone message, and are never there! However… when you finally get in, (only happened once) you feel like it’s an inconvenience to ask questions. Its not welcoming at all. I would say they sell more used furniture, than antiques. Perhaps they sell business to business cuz they don’t seem to want to sell anything to the general public.

I'm perplexed about this business. It's a huge property in (North Branford CT Foxon Rd) donning an even bigger sign, with plenty of parking, and it's been there forever! I just read several Google reviews- all negative, so I feel I'm writing an accurate review. If you call you will receive no answer or greeting, no option to leave a message. Secondly-they post shopper friendly hours of operation on Google but have never been there after numerous attempts. Once I did get in, and I'm sorry to say, it was disorganized very dingy, with what I would call used smaller objects and furniture rather than antiques. I did not attempt to ask to go into the large warehouse that seemed pack with stuff. But was very curious. Upon entering, you immediately get the feeling that the owner does not want your there. He was outright rude, said they do not negotiate on price period! Perhaps because they simply do not want to sell anything, at least not to walk in traffic. If they only sell business to business or it they are simply a warehouse, why post hours, have big sign or bother to advertise at all? I will be thrilled if the owner answers these questions and solves the mystery.

My mom wanted to check out this place cause she loves antiques and I should of told her to keep on driving. Walked in and was greeted by one of the owners I presume. Felt his glare while me and my mom walked around the store making me feel uneasy and to not touch anything or to ask any questions about pricing. Saw a pair of matching stones I was interested in and asked if he could do $20 from $30 cause one of them had a chip in it. He immediately got on the defensive side and got an nasty attitude that they don’t do bargaining and don’t have to follow other places rules. Stood there with my mouth open from how he answered me when all he could of said was a simple no and there would have been no problem. Walked right out the door with my mom right behind me. Sorry we didn’t meet your customer standards since we weren’t from the area.

I live nearby and used to frequent this place in my late-middle school years (in college now). The selection is big and interesting - you can occupy yourself for some time just looking around and digesting everything. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the organization is a little iffy and sometimes things are stacked a few layers deep/high, but this is the kind of place that makes the hunt fun. Downsides include prices (a little steep for a place that isn't exactly boutique-y or "curated"), the lack of price tags (though that's somewhat understandable - on more than one occasion the owner left pricing wide open and let me throw out an offer first; bargaining is quite possible here), and, most noticeably for me, the general atmosphere. The owner is a shady, middle-aged guy with long, scraggly gray hair and a few missing teeth who has a distinctly 'Staven, Don Corleone way of talking, and sometimes he hangs at the counter with a posse of other similarly questionable figures, who speak with no filter and make me feel like, should I choose to interrupt them with a question, they'll make me an offer I can't refuse. I remember being laughed at a few times for one reason or another, and generally felt like I was in an unfriendly place. But if you let yourself get lost in the aisles and tolerate the prices, you may leave satisfied.

I had a horrible experience with this business. I went into this shop and asked the saleswoman about the price of two items, since most of the items didn't even have prices on them. I was told the prices, said that I would think about it, and would come back, if I wanted to make a purchase. I came back the next day that they were open, and inquired about one of the items. The same saleswoman abruptly told me that the item was sold. She then made a point of telling me that when you see something you like, you should buy it, because then someone else could purchase it. The next day I was checking Ebay, saw an item that looked like it, and that the seller was from Guilford, CT. I e-mailed the seller, saying that I saw a similar item at an antique shop in North Branford, CT, asked if this was purchased from that shop. I also asked if I bid, and ended up the winning bidder, if I could pick it up. The seller responded that the item was located at the antique shop in North Branford, and as long as the item was paid for by PayPal first, then it could be picked up. She also gave me her phone number. I called and told her that it was strange that I just went into the shop the day before inquiring about the item, and was told that it was sold. I told her it wasn't actually sold, that I didn't like the way that they did business, and wouldn't want to purchase from them. She was "That's fine.", and I hung up on her. So, this person was dishonest with me by telling me the item was sold, rather than being honest in saying that it was now up on Ebay. I would think most decent business owners, especially in today's economy, would say that since the item didn't have any bidders, that they would cancel the auction, and sell it to the customer that was right there in the shop. So, this business lost me as a customer, and the item ended on Ebay without any bids.

The selection of antiques was decent: lots of furniture in the main building. However, hardly anything had price tags, including small items which was very inconvenient for browsing. We asked the price on an old pay phone, which was in great condition, but the lady there told us it was $450. Ouch. I felt like they were over priced even for an antique store based on that quote (I would've thought somewhere in the $200 range was a fair price for it). The layout of the store was a bit awkward as well. There was an annex type of room which was unheated, poorly lit, and disorganized. Overall I wasn't too impressed. The sales lady was friendly enough but then there was a man standing outside who I'm assuming worked there who practically glared at us when we walked by him to get to the annex, which was a little uncomfortable. I do think they had some very fine and exquisite furnishings, though you can expect to pay top dollar for them here.
