Went to the beach at the boardwalk on the drawbridge side during the weekday. There was hardly anybody there so we felt like we had our own private beach. There were lifeguards. The sand is typical rough Connecticut sand. When you get in the water, after the rough rocks, the bottom is soft.

A beautiful open space to walk, enjoy the sea views, trains, fresh air. It's a great place for a 'at your pace' walk.

Such a great use of this waterfront space! It was a wonderful walk with my husband and infant who was in a stroller. Beautiful!

No shade, but a nice walk with decent views and a restroom. Parking is fairly easy too.

So much has changed! Used to be a fisherman beach, now it's full of yuppies. Even expect you to pay to park during the beach season. Gave it 5 stars only because I will always love this beach because my mom's ashes are on it! But even she would be upset at how it turned out. It is still a beautiful place. Just too many people.

What a beautiful spot! We spent a few hours walking and exploring this area. The water, the grass and trees, the whole space was lovely on a lovely sunny day.
