One of our favorite local places to visit. Music on the beach is the best.

Nice park overlooking Niantic Bay. Playground, picnic area, public restrooms. Plenty of parking. Down side during summer months you must be a resident or pay to get in.
Playground: Large play ground split into age groups.
Restrooms: Centrally located
Picnic area: Tables spread around. I think some with charcoal pits raised off ground.

A good place for a local family to go to, you won't see the power station to the left of McCook's point, making it a bit of a visual splendor. There are bathrooms available and some parking.
A playground is up the hill for those more active families, and some paths to walk around that give different views of the Niantic shoreline. I recommend bringing some food here for an afternoon lunch.
McCook Point connects to the Niantic Boardwalk and Niantic Beach, which makes up about a 1.3 mile walk from one point to another. There is car access to McCook Point Park from Columbus Rd, though footpath access from a tunnel on the other side of the park.
Playground: A playground is at the park!
Restrooms: Bathrooms are available. Though I do not know if they are open during the non-summer months.
Picnic area: There are good places to picnic at this park.
