I have been using Big Y for many years. They have a good selection of produce and grocery items. Their prices are also competitive. I find better choice of flowers at Big Y than other grocery stores. Food is also quite fresh.

We shop here often because of the proximity to our house. No major complaints, BUT!…please fix the bakery fryer!! 🥲. We have noticed for weeks now (in the rare occasion we snag a donut subsequent to them being made differently now) that the donuts taste different (no longer light and fluffy). When we finally inquired about it today we were told that the fryer broke and that it was decided to not fix it. They’re now baked instead.
Now we have to go all the way to the Bethel big y for donuts 🙁. It’s definitely noticeable. Just hoping this is one more review in the bucket to tip the scale to fix the fryer. Thank you!

If you're in the Newtown, CT area, this is a must stop, if only for the bakery. The store is HUGE, clean, and well stocked, and the bakery has some of the best baked goods you'll find outside of a dedicated bake shop. Their prepped foods are also fantastic

Great place to buy just about anything you need! Their donuts are far better than Dunkin's and more for your buck. You can also find foods from local businesses such as olive oil. Try IL Siru from a local business, Tree of Life Imports. The olive oil is high quality and is superior to commercial brands.

Love your store. Love the gluten-free selection. I’m always helped by a lady named Irene. She assisted me several times when I had a hand injury and just wanted to bring this up. She did an awesome job.

Big Y has the best seafood dept. of any grocery store. Equal to any fish market with prices that are double big y.

I had a pleasant experience at Big Y today. I picked up a jar of cheese with a yellow discount tag, but the self-checkout machine didn't apply the discount. A store assistant discovered that the tag was from last week's sale and had not been removed. Due to this minor error, they generously offered me the cheese for free. I am truly impressed by their exceptional customer service. I highly recommend Big Y to everyone in our community. Plus, their store-baked rolls are absolutely delicious!
